    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

Liverpool had an electric spell, scoring twice in three minutes, but you do think there is potential for Watford to breach the castle walls. Liverpool's defence is a little rickety and the Hornets are decent going forward. Jose Holebas tries to get down the left, but is poleaxed by Nathaniel Clyne.

    Hull 0-1 Southampton

All the disruptions have made this one a little disjointed. All the Southampton momentum has gone, while Hull don't know if it's time for breakfast or a haircut. All of this in front of a half-empty ground, with Hull's fans choosing to stay away.

    Liverpool 2-0 Watford

Heurelho Gomes has seen the iceberg. Like a fast bowler on a flat deck, he's spotted the potential to be picking the ball out of the net for the rest of the afternoon. Either that, or he's done some damage to his right leg. Limps off, replaced by Costel Pantilimon, a man who hasn't had a Premier League game for 11 months.

    Philippe Coutinho (30 mins)

What were we saying about open floodgates? Philippe Coutinho has been all over Merseyside in the first half an hour and now he has put his side two up with a daisy cutter from 20 yards. Fed by Roberto Firmino, scorching the turf to nestle the ball inside the post. Game over?

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2016

    Hull 0-1 Southampton

Meanwhile, Dusan Tadic has properly stuck one on Ryan Mason. Studs up, knee high, pretty reckless. Tadic is lucky not to see more than a yellow card, because that was awful

    Sadio Mane (27 mins)

It just had to come. Sadio Mane gives Liverpool a lead they richly deserve. A short corner is worked to Philippe Coutinho, whose whippy cross is glanced inside the far post by the former Southampton man. Jurgen Klopp hugs the nearest member of staff, his team are heading top. Open floodgates?

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2016

    Hull 0-1 Southampton

Will Keane hobbles off, shaking his head. You hope that injury isn't as a bad as it looks,. Robert Snodgrass is the man to come on.

    Hull 0-1 Southampton

Any Hull fans in attendance might be close to getting a game if this continues. First Abel Hernandez, now Will Keane, who looks to have suffered a pretty nasty knee injury. Landing, planting the left foot on the ground, immediately going down and waving to the bench. One goal down, two players injured. Give Mike Phelan a break.

    Hull 0-1 Southampton

There's a curious mix of stripes in Hull. Black and gold plays red and white. It's like a Dulux colour chart meets a magic eye. No sign of a Hull revival yet, roared on by the no noise of a very sparse crowd.

    Liverpool 0-0 Watford

Coutinho again! Fed by Sadio Mane, cutting inside to leave Watford defender Daryl Janmaat on toast, shot just wide of the post. It's coming for Liverpool. One could bring eight.

Philippe Coutinho off the bar, only for the flag to be raised. Still, it was enough for Jurgen Klopp to be leaping off his seat. I hear you, Jurgen. I need Coutinho to salvage my horrific fantasy football weekend.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2016

    Liverpool 0-0 Watford

Save! Heurehlo Gomes from Lucas, who really should score. A corner floats all the way to the back post, where Lucas arrives late, takes the ball down and scores if he puts the ball anywhere else. As it is, Gomes is down to parry the ball away.

    Liverpool 0-0 Watford

Incidentally, Liverpool's back four includes both James Milner and Lucas today. There's come chat that Michael Carrick might be playing at centre-half for Manchester United later on. This is what happens when you turn Javier Mascherano into a defender. Pep has got a lot to answer for.

  16. Postpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2016

    Liverpool 0-0 Watford

At Anfield, Watford are having their share of the play. They come down the Liverpool right, but a cross comes to nothing. Walter Mazzarri is off the bench, holding up two fingers, then 10. No idea what that means.

Lots of luck for Hull, all of it bad. They are behind and now they have Abel Hernandez limping off. It looks like his hammy has pinged. Dieumerci Mbokani takes his place.

    Charlie Austin (pen, 7 mins)

It's a horrible start for embattled Hull. Charlie Austin belts is straight down the middle, putting Southampton ahead. Just a moment before, Abel Hernandez had been put through by a loose Jose Fonte back pass, but it came to nothing. Now, the struggling hosts are behind and right up against it.
