    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

This is promising stuff from Manchester United as Paul Pogba drives through midfield, scattering Arsenal men in his wake. He does take some stopping and it needs three of them to close him out in the end.

  2. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

Juan Mata to take - over the wall and wide! Not a bad effort at all.

  3. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

We haven't seen Carl Jenkinson in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League for the best part of 30 months and straight away he is slow to react and is mugged by Marcus Rashford.

Moments later the sprightly Rashford crosses from the other wing and Paul Pogba is close to meeting it with a header. United then win a free-kick. Bright spell from the hosts.

A lovely sunny lunchtime in Manchester then, a far cry from the bitterly cold sleet that greeted us first thing this morning. Arsenal with the early possession but a long punt over the top comes to nothing.

Face of thunder for Jose Mourinho as he trudges down the sideline, while a hint of a smile brushes the lips of Arsene Wenger.

Who will be laughing come full-time though?

Jose Mourinho doesn't know his best team still. It's interesting to see Marcus Rashford staring through the middle.

Sometimes players know the best team before the manager does. If we see a great attacking performance from United maybe this should be the first-choice side from now on.

I was lucky enough to stay with the England team during the 1990 World Cup. What went on in that hotel will stay in that hotel but I can tell you there were plenty of incidents with players having a drink and a good time.

And that team got to the semi-finals and were a kick away from making the final.

Wayne Rooney was in the hotel, not out causing trouble. It's a load of nonsense. Leave him alone.

I would prefer to play for Jose Mourinho over Arsene Wenger. I think I would fall out with him a few times but I like that.

Wenger is a really nice guy and you would learn an awful lot from him.

But personally I think you want a manager that you know if going to back you whether things are going well, and even more so when things are going badly.

  12. Kind of a big dealpublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

Man Utd v Arsenal (12:30 GMT)

Here we go then, it's almost game time. The stands are filling up, the noise levels are rising. Roberto Martinez is among those watching on, as is, of course, Sir Alex Ferguson.

I'm told that Will Ferrell is there too. No idea why.

  13. Do Man Utd know what this means?published at 12:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

When this fixture was in its pomp, every Manchester United player knew exactly what this game meant.

Do they know? If they don't and take what Jose Mourinho said about it being another game then Arsenal have the upper hand.

  14. Mourinho the great whingerpublished at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Jose Mourinho has turned into the great whinger. Just concentrate on your team playing and winning football games.

I think he knows that he's not got a very good team at the moment and he's just trying to do anything to deflect from it.

  15. Form book -> window?published at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

Man Utd v Arsenal (12:30 GMT)

    • Jose Mourinho has never lost a Premier League game against Arsenal, winning five and drawing six of his 11 previous meetings with the Gunners.
    • Arsene Wenger's only win in 15 previous encounters as a manager in any competition against Jose Mourinho came in the 2015 Community Shield (W1 D6 L8).

It's a big game and a real signpost of what Arsenal can achieve this season.I don't understand Jose Mourinho complaining about a lack of respect - the Football Writers' Association have put on a tribute night for him - they've never done that for Arsene Wenger.

Does his behaviour always merit that respect though?

  18. 'Hazard is in a good place'published at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

Chelsea's Eden Hazard looks like he is about to burst out laughing in that Football Focus interview - he seems that happy.

I like that we don't see him for negative reasons in the press. He seems like he is in a very good place and that's reflecting on the pitch too.

Last season he wasn't really up for it. Antonio Conte has realised this year that Hazard is the main man and has given him the freedom to go and enjoy himself.

  19. Lawro's predictionspublished at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Astley 1-0 Pogba

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

What he is going to do, though, is make some Premier League predictions. Yes, this week Mark Lawrenson is taking on 1980s pop legend Rick Astley, who, as a Manchester United fan, recently had the pleasure of seeing a mash-up video of Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba dancing to his most famous tune...

    Media caption,

Rick's United allegiance comes through boldly in his first prediction for today - United 7-0 Arsenal. Take that, Gunners.
