I think Theo Walcott is a very good footballer but he just doesn't know the game. And it's never got any better at all.

Francis Coqueiln, who made his Gunners debut in that 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford, blasts one into the Stretford End. He still hasn't scored for Arsenal...

It's been quite Even Stevens so far - Sanchez's header was definitely the best chance for Arsenal. But Marcus Rashford playing through the middle is causing plenty of problems.

It was possibly me saying that this was an exciting game which did it, but we've hit our first lull.

    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

For a man who doesn't want to play out wide Marcus Rashford can't half cross a ball! What a delivery that is, whipped in at real pace but just evading the lurking Paul Pogba, who it turns out was offside anyway.

It's a poor tackle from Sanchez, bit of a scissor tackle and he was nowhere near the ball.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16 mins

Bad news for many fantasy football players out there as Alexis Sanchez is booked for a classic 'striker's tackle' on Ander Herrera. Round the back, from the side, hacked the shins.

BBC Radio 5 live commentator at Old Trafford

Gareth Southgate has done some really good things for England on and off the pitch but one thing that's really surprised me is that Marcus Rashford hasn't started any of Southgate's four games in charge.

Jesse Lingard started three but he's on the bench for United here.

Open start at Old Trafford - the most animation we have seen so far from Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a polite wave in response to some decidedly impolite chanting in his direction from Arsenal's fans.

That is quality from Paul Pogba, receiving the ball when tightly marked, near to the touchline, but pinning and then spinning his marker in one movement and driving in a low cross right into the goalmouth. He is a hell of a physical specimen.

Nobody there to convert it though.

Phil Jones then has to stretch to clear a good cross at the other end. So often these 'big' games are dull, tepid affairs but we have started well here. Fingers crossed for goals and excitement...

Aaron Ramsey has been busy in the last few minutes, switching from a wide role to one more central. He has the security blanket of both Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny in behind him.

Coquelin then does just that, stretching to cut out a dangerous-looking cross from the fit-again Antonio Valencia.

Every time Sanchez gets the ball you want to lift your bum off your seat because you just know he's going to do something.

It was a very good chance for a man in his form. Arsenal now on top in what has been a surprisingly bright and open first 10 minutes.

Sanchez should've scored. He was under a little bit of pressure but he's headed it well wide.

You never know in these games - that could've been the best chance of the game.

He missed the goal by a goal's width!

  19. CLOSE!published at 7 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

Chaos in the United defence! Arsenal's first real attack sees a corner played back in, Theo Walcott flicks on a header and Alexis Sanchez is onside and unmarked, just a few yards out. The ball is slightly behind him though and he is never set, reacting to flick a tame header well wide in the end.

That was a sizable opening for the men in yellow...

A little bit more bend from Juan Mata might've done it. But then a little bit more bend and Petr Cech probably saves it.
