There have been three attempts on target in this game so far - two for Stoke, one for Watford. One side won't mind those figures, the other very much will.

Watford are simply not testing Lee Grant. They win a corner but Stoke are too strong for them and clear. Roberto Pereyra then fouls Mame Diuof and the pressure is released. Walter Mazzarri mimes a dive on the touchline. He doesn't commit to the reenactment as much as Louis van Gaal but he gets his point across.

This atmosphere is testing on the referee. The fans jeering every decision could start adding pressure and force him to start making mistakes. 

He made no errors in the first half but he needs to keep his head or poor decisions could start creeping in...

More boos from the home fans as a move breaks down and Stoke put the ball out of play so Erik Pieters can receive some treatment. It rubs the home side up the wrong way, but it is good game management from Stoke, who want to snub out any momentum from the Hornets, which is exactly what this does.

Some breaking team news from Arsenal. French defender Mathieu Debuchy is making his first start of the season for the Gunners. I was beginning to think he had gone all Winston Bogarde on us.

There are too many Watford players who are not interested in getting on the ball. 

No one seems to want to find a pass, wants to find space, no one wants to help out their team mates. 

Everyone who gets hold of the ball keeps throwing their arms up as if to say "what do you want me to do with this?"

Jon Walters is first to a free-kick into the Watford box but his header flashes wide of goal.

Watford's attack has been blunter than Geoff Boycott's oldest bread knife so it is no surprise to see Odion Ighalo sent on in place of Jose Holebas.

Daryl Janmaat has a legitimate gripe this time. He is held by Erik Pieters but continues his run in to the box despite being a bit off balance. Charlie Adam comes across and Janmaat is adjudged to have tripped him. He did, but Pieters was the initial offending party.
