    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Marko Arnautovic takes his sweet time leaving the pitch to be replaced by Peter Crouch, who has no doubt been told to hold the ball in the Watford half.

  2. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Watford are finally starting to knock on the door. A little period of pressure ends with Daryl Janmaat volleying over from outside the box. If Walter Mazzarri waves his hands any faster he's going to take off.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Off goes Nordin Amrabat, on comes forward Stefano Okaka, who is, it would be fair to say, a unit.

  4. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Xherdan Shaqiri hits the free-kick... straight into the wall.

  5. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Is that a foul? Xherdan Shaqiri drops to the ground on the edge of the Watford box under pressure from Sebastian Prodl. Didn't look to be anything wrong to me. However, it is a very dangerous free-kick to Stoke...

Now a shout for a penalty at the other end as Heurelho Gomes' poor clearance invites Jon Walters to challenge for the ball with Miguel Britos. The forward goes down but the referee sees nothing wrong. The grin on Walters' face suggests he was chancing his arm a bit. The cheeky scamp.

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Big calls for a penalty as Odion Ighalo - looking to reach Miguel Britos' header across goal - tumbles in the box under a challenge from Erik Pieters. Referee isn't interested and Lee Grant punches the ball away.

As much as Stoke are inviting pressure, they are handling it well.

However, if these crosses keep coming in, one of them is going to drop to a Watford player soon.

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Get the ball in the box! Too much dallying from Watford around the box, summed up perfectly by Nordin Amrabat, who wants a touch too many and is dispossessed with men waiting in the danger zone.

Odion Ighalo meets a Miguel Britos cross but his backward header is soft and falls easily for Lee Grant to claim.

Mark Hughes will be wanting to make a change soon.

He has just had to make some gestures to his back four because they are starting to invite too much pressure now.

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

There have been three attempts on target in this game so far - two for Stoke, one for Watford. One side won't mind those figures, the other very much will.

Watford are simply not testing Lee Grant. They win a corner but Stoke are too strong for them and clear. Roberto Pereyra then fouls Mame Diuof and the pressure is released. Walter Mazzarri mimes a dive on the touchline. He doesn't commit to the reenactment as much as Louis van Gaal but he gets his point across.

This atmosphere is testing on the referee. The fans jeering every decision could start adding pressure and force him to start making mistakes.

He made no errors in the first half but he needs to keep his head or poor decisions could start creeping in...

More boos from the home fans as a move breaks down and Stoke put the ball out of play so Erik Pieters can receive some treatment. It rubs the home side up the wrong way, but it is good game management from Stoke, who want to snub out any momentum from the Hornets, which is exactly what this does.

    Arsenal v Bournemouth (14:15 GMT)

Some breaking team news from Arsenal. French defender Mathieu Debuchy is making his first start of the season for the Gunners. I was beginning to think he had gone all Winston Bogarde on us.

There are too many Watford players who are not interested in getting on the ball.

No one seems to want to find a pass, wants to find space, no one wants to help out their team mates.

Everyone who gets hold of the ball keeps throwing their arms up as if to say "what do you want me to do with this?"

Jon Walters is first to a free-kick into the Watford box but his header flashes wide of goal.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Watford's attack has been blunter than Geoff Boycott's oldest bread knife so it is no surprise to see Odion Ighalo sent on in place of Jose Holebas.

Daryl Janmaat has a legitimate gripe this time. He is held by Erik Pieters but continues his run in to the box despite being a bit off balance. Charlie Adam comes across and Janmaat is adjudged to have tripped him. He did, but Pieters was the initial offending party.
