    Hull 0-0 Man City

Nolito is not in this game at the moment for Man City. He has a brief chance to break but the door is slammed shut by Ahmed Elmohamady. The away side come again but Raheem Sterling slices a shot from the edge of the box horribly high and wide.

    Hull 0-0 Man City

It is more congested on the edge of the Hull box than my gut was about this time yesterday. Man City again struggle to find a way through before a weak, low shot from Nolito from range is easily saved by Marshall.

It's not quite as smooth as it was at the start for Man City.

Earlier they were zipping the ball around but Hull really are asking questions of Guardiola's team, sort of saying, "You're not as good as you think you are".

    Hull 0-0 Man City

Hull will be very pleased with this. They have nullified Man City. Kevin de Bruyne tries to turn to buy himself an opening in the box but he is shut down by Tom Huddlestone. who stands tall and tackles cleanly.

Sometimes, there are teams who have a very "muscular" style.

They can get away with it because that's the shape of the players.

There have been a few times where wee Sterling has been bundled over or knocked into and the referee has just said "No, get on with it" because that's the way Hull play.

    I quite like it!

    Hull 0-0 Man City

Hull are hunting in packs, snapping in to tackles and depriving the Man City players time to work. In response, the away side are trying to be too intricate around the box.

When they do go a bit more agricultural - with a cross from the left - they are almost rewarded with a ball coming loose to Raheem Sterling before a home boot pokes it behind. No joy from the corner, though.

Livermore has another effort. This time he is on target, with a 20-yard drive, but Claudio Bravo is right behind it and saves. We've got a much more even encounter on our hands now.

A low, 20-yard shot from David Silva tests David Marshall but the keeper fronts up, diving low to save.

Hull respond with an Ahmed Elmohamady cross that Jake Livermore heads over. He was falling back slightly so couldn't control the effort.

Hull are very direct at the moment and want to get at the two centre backs of Manchester City but as I've said they aren't going to be able to keep up this work rate for 90 minutes...

An early change for the visitors. Aleksandar Kolarov is on for the injured John Stones, who looks to have an issue with his left leg.

Hull break but after Robert Snodgrass' run is checked, Andrew Robertson's cross is too strong and then Ahmed Elmohamady's long-range shot is wild.

Just signs now that Hull are edging a toe into the game. They're seeing a little bit of the ball at least, which up until now has been zipping around in front of them from blue shirt to blue shirt.

81% possession going in the visitors' favour in the opening 10 minutes. Hull starting to get a little frustrated. They concede a free-kick as Robert Snodgrass pushes over Gael Clichy as he tries to latch on to a forward ball.

The visitors are bossing the game in these early stages. De Bruyne has a sight of goal but his curling effort takes a deflection and goes behind. Man City's second corner is better than their first but Hull manage to get the ball away eventually.

This has started at a really lively pace. I don't suspect Hull will be able to keep up - they may lose themselves slightly if they try.

The first corner of the game is headed away at the near post. Poor delivery.

Man City have settled into their stride now. Michael Dawson goes through the back of Kevin de Bruyne and concedes a dangerous free-kick 25 yards from goal. Yaya hits it and beats the wall but not David Marshall, who tips the ball over.

Early test for John Stones as the ball is launched forward for Dieumerci Mbokani. He passes it, though, collecting possession and holding off the home forward before sending the ball on.

Man City with the early possession, playing some neat stuff at the back, but Hull are quickly in their face, pressing and harrying. The tone is set.
