Already Swansea look a far better team than they did against West Ham on Boxing Day. There's far more cohesion about their play. Far more determination as well.

  3. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Swansea's best chance so far sees Fernando Llorente rise to a Kyle Naughton cross, but his header shapes a foot wide of the right-hand post.

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Neat work from Kyle Naughton and Nathan Dyer sees the ball skim across the Bournemouth area from the right, but it's too far in front of Fernando Llorente. That got the home crowd roused at last.

  5. CLOSE!published at 18 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Junior Stanislas weaves into the area from the right and tries to chip Lukasz Fabianski, but the keeper is alert to it and palms the ball over his bar.

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Gylfi Sigurdsson is urged to 'shooooooooooot' by thousands of home supporters, but he passes to Nathan Dyer instead. His cross is decent but Artur Boruc collects it in his bread-basket with ease.

  7. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

First shot in anger of the day goes to Charlie Daniels, but his left-footed effort does not have the direction to go with the power, and it flies well wide.

  8. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Benik Afobe chases a long ball over the top, but Alfie Mawson calmly nods it back to his keeper. At the other end, Nathan Dyer races down the right flank to the edge of the box but his cross towards Fernando Llorente is cut out.

  9. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

It has settled down since that lively opening, and so far Bournemouth look the more comfortable side. There's already a bit of frustration from the home fans every time an attack breaks down.

Simon Francis' run down the right wing wins the first corner of the day for the visitors. A short one finds Junior Stanislas, but his low effort from the edge of the box goes straight at Neil Taylor and the ball rebounds to safety.

Swansea City have been accused of being "too nice" this season, and they had gone three games without being booked before today's encounter with Bournemouth.

It took Swans midfielder Ki Sung-yueng about 30 seconds to pick up a yellow card for that scything sliding tackle on Ryan Fraser.

    Pumped? Perhaps too much so.

    Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth

Both sides are going at each other with plenty of vim and vigour in these early stages. Neil Taylor's run give Fernando Llorente a chance of a shot, but a Bournemouth leg gets in the way on the edge of the box.

Ki Sung-yueng goes into the book inside 40 seconds for clattering in to Ryan Fraser with the ball some distance away.

The teams are out at the Liberty Stadium, and it certainly sounds like the home fans are right behind their side - in sharp contrast to the closing stages against West Ham.

Swansea - what are the club doing, the owners? Why would they get rid of Francesco Guidolin and bring in a manager with no Premier League experience in Bob Bradley?

And Joe Allen, who had an amazing Euros with Wales in the summer, was messed around by Swansea. They failed to get their ducks in order and get that transfer through in good time, and in the end he ended up at Stoke.

Swans. Ducks. See what Trevor's done there?

Swansea's squad does not look good enough for the Premier League. But I have worked with Paul Clement and he is an exceptional coach. His training sessions are lively and if he gets the Swans job he will be able to make a difference.

People keep calling for a man with Premier League experience, but who is out there?

Whoever is employed, the key is getting the players onside.

  19. Curtis wants 'pride and passion'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Swansea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Alan Curtis has spoken about what he wants from his Swansea side today in his prematch interview.

"There was a need for change, change was needed to spruce it up and hopefully we can get a result today. We need to put on a performance and show a bit of passion and pride."

The last six meetings between these two clubs have produced 27 goals - an average of 4.5 per game - with the most recent one coming from the impressively-tattooed Steve Cook in Bournemouth's 3-2 win last March.
