It was a toxic atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium on Boxing Day as Swansea surrendered meekly to West Ham.

The club whose unity has been admired for years has been ripped apart, losing their identity, although some of that will be recovered with Swans legend Alan Curtis now temporarily in charge.

Bob Bradley was helped by his nationality to get the manager's job, but he was wrongly damned by many simply for being from the USA.

Bournemouth will be confident of putting their season back on track with a victory, and unless Curtis can work miracles in the space of just a few days, that's probably what will happen.

Since Ashley Williams left for Everton, Swansea have struggled.

I get that they got good money for him considering his age, but he was their dressing room, their personality.

Looking at the managers who are being discussed, I would take Gary Rowett in a heartbeat. It looks like Swansea will get relegated – if they do, who better to bring them back up?

It is eight years to the day since Eddie Howe was first put in charge of the Cherries, albeit in a caretaker capacity. The club was 91st out of 92 league clubs at the time, and despite losing his first two games, the then-31-year-old was given the permanent job.

Paul Clement is the favourite to become Swansea City’s new manager, but there is no sign of the Bayern Munich assistant boss at the Liberty Stadium today.

The Swans’ search for a manager has had a few twists and turns this week, with Ryan Giggs and Chris Coleman among those to have been targeted and then discounted.

The Welsh side now seem to favour ex-Derby coach Clement, though former Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett is still a contender.

For the time being, club legend Alan Curtis is in temporary charge for today’s game against Bournemouth, a chance for Swansea to haul themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table.

Swansea legend Alan Curtis (right) is in temporary charge at the Liberty Stadium again following the sacking of Bob Bradley. The latest speculation is that Paul Clement is the favourite to succeed the American in the full-time role, but for now Curtis, who played over 300 times for the Swans, holds the reins.
