Borussia are well organised and look full of running. They've also done a very good job of keep Moussa Dembele quiet. The in-form Celtic striker was able to bully Manchester City's defenders but he's up against stronger opponents tonight.

Barcelona lead Manchester City in the other Group C game. Lionel Messi rounding the goalkeeper to tap in.

The Catalan giants have dominated the first 45 minutes and are well worth their lead. But, much like Celtic's Scott Sinclair, City's Ilkay Gundogan had a good chance towards the end and failed to take it.

Both teams will need to catch a breath after a frantic first half but the Bundesliga side have created the better openings, with Celtic keeper Craig Gordon kept busy.

Celtic have struggled to build any momentum since they can't keep the ball for more than a few passes but they did have the best chance of the game when Scott Sinclair got in behind only to shoot high over the crossbar.

Big chance for Celtic! Tom Rogic slides a lovely pass in behind the Gladbach defence and here comes Scott Sinclair cutting in from the left only to sky a horrible shot over the top on the angle.

It's all gone a bit quiet as we enter the final five minutes of a first half that the German side have pretty much bossed. Celtic have not been able to find any rhythm or momentum.

Celtic are hanging on a bit here as a neatly worked move sees Tobias Strobl dart into the penalty area but in slides Kolo Toure to clear up the danger and take a sore one for his troubles.

Celtic teenager Kieran Tierney is having an uncomfortable night at left-back and now he's under more pressure following a yellow card for a late challenge on Ibrahima Traore.

A terrible header from Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton sets up a swift Gladbach attack. The hosts get lucky as a pass to Andre Hahn is over-hit but the winger gets a shot away, forcing Craig Gordon to make another save.

Another dangerous move from Gladbach. Another good stop from Craig Gordon.

Celtic are cut open with alarming ease, allowing Jonas Hofmann a good view of the target from the left but he can't beat the home goalie with a firm, rising shot.

All the trouble is coming down Celtic's left.

Celtic need to get wide attackers Scott Sinclair and James Forrest more involved. But they need to keep the ball away from the tenacious Germans for more than a few passes first.

Craig Gordon scuttles across to his near post to gather a low strike from Ibrahima Traore. Moments later, the same player makes a better connection from a central position and the Celtic keeper is at full-stretch to get a hand to it. He's up quickly too to prevent Andre Hahn reaching the momentarily loose ball.

More good pressing from Celtic and suddenly there's an opening as Nir Bitton robs Christoph Kramer but the German international uses a hand to halt the momentum and takes a yellow card for the team.

Bitton blasts in the free-kick and the keeper takes no chances, pushing it wide for a corner.

With both sides pressing hard and high up the pitch, possession is quickly surrendered and won back again. Frantic stuff...

Gladbach are targeting Celtic's left flank in these early stages and Kolo Toure needs to make a good sliding block from an Andre Hahn shot.
