    Patrick Roberts, 2 mins

The perfect start for Celtic but a disaster for Ross County.

Stuart Armstrong plays a pass to Patrick Roberts and the little winger glides in off the right flank, skips by a few challenges and simply caresses a low left-foot finish into bottom corner to give the champions the lead.

  6. Contrasting approachespublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Motherwell v Inverness CT

    Richard Wilson
    BBC Scotland at Fir Park

This is a meeting of two clubs with top six aspirations and a realisation that this campaign is going to be keenly fought all season. A win for either side would lift them out of the bottom half of the table, but they are also only three and four points, respectively, off the bottom.

That is how tight it is, but there is a contrast between the two teams, since Inverness have a side of battle-hardened, experienced players, whereas Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has kept faith with young academy graduates Chris Cadden, Ross MacLean and Jack McMillan, while Scott McDonald, Lionel Ainsworth and James McFadden are on the bench.

    Kilmarnock v Hearts

    John Barnes
    BBC Scotland at Rugby Park

Hearts arrive at Rugby Park looking for the win that would take them into second place in the Premiership. Robbie Neilson's men are on a good run of form having lost only one of their last eight games - they've won five and drawn two of the other seven.

Kilmarnock are desperate for a change in home form. They've won only four of their last 27 top flight matches at Rugby Park.

    Motherwell v Inverness CT (19:45)

    Richard Wilson
    BBC Scotland at Fir Park

Richie Foran says Inverness can carry on their recent good form by taking all three points from Fir Park. He admits that his spell as a Motherwell player was the best of his career, and is enjoying being back at the ground now as a manager, even if it is the opposition.

  10. Hearts target second placepublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Kilmarnock v Hearts (19:45)

Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson talking to BBC Radio Scotland:

"Robbie Muirhead and Conor Sammon are up against their former club and they're desperate to do well. We have a massive incentive. We want to get into second place and hopefully cement it.

"We have a lot of young players and they have grown up playing on artificial pitches, so it's not a problem for us."

    Kilmarnock v Hearts (19:45)

Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark talking to BBC Radio Scotland:

"The team has been doing well and long may that continue. We have individuals playing with a lot of confidence. We should have had six points from six but four is a good return and hopefully we can get that elusive home win tonight."

Just one change for Killie tonight, with captain Stevie Smith in for Martin Smith.

  12. 'I have a trust in the squad'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Ross County v Celtic (19:45)

“We’ve virtually been playing the same team for a number of weeks. While we know it’s going to be a really tough game, I just felt maybe after Sunday’s game and the quick turnaround that this is a chance for me to makes the changes and bring some of the players in who have been absolutely brilliant in training.

"We’ve obviously got big games after this as well, so it’s not that we’re in any way taking it lightly. I have a trust in the squad, I see them in training every day and they’re all looking forward to putting in another good performance hopefully.”

    Motherwell v Inverness CT (19:45)

    Richard Wilson
    BBC Scotland at Fir Park

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee believes home form will be critical over the course of the season as his side aim to finish in the top six. He says Inverness will be a difficult team to face at Fir Park tonight, but is confident that recent performance levels can be maintained. The graduates from the academy who have broken into the team in recent weeks remain in the starting line up on merit, McGhee added.

  14. Staggies aim for positive startpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Ross County v Celtic (19:45)

“I’m really looking forward to it. These are the games you want to test yourself in, going away to Hearts, going away to Ibrox, having the champions at home. I watched them on Sunday, they were fantastic.

“What Brendan (Rodgers) has done, he’s instilled real belief and confidence in the team. They look really fit, strong and really strong mentally. They’ve got that quality.

“We need to make sure we start the game well. We need to make sure we’re compact, we’re organised but also a threat.”

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre on BBC Radio Scotland

  17. Changing of the guard?published at 19:16 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Motherwell v Inverness CT (19:45)

There's lots of experience on the Motherwell bench this evening, with Scott McDonald, Lionel Ainsworth, James McFadden and Dean Brill among the replacements. Jack McMillan, 18, makes just his second start in central defence and 20-year-old Craig Cadden must be one of the first names on the team sheet these days.

  18. Mixed omens for Saints at Ibroxpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Rangers v St Johnstone (19:45)

St Johnstone enjoyed their last visit to Ibrox; a 3-1 League Cup victory in September 2015. However, previous league form heavily favours the hosts, with Rangers winning 12 of the past 14 meetings. Saints have only scored three goals in 11 Premiership trips to Govan (D2 L9), never scoring more than once.

The Perth side sit fourth in the table, two points better off than Rangers, who have a game in hand, so there's a lot riding on this one.
