While we are on the subject of Hal Robson-Kanu, does anyone else think he has a bit of a lookalike in popular artist Drake?

Tony Pulis had a decision to make. Bring back top-scorer Salomon Rondon from the bench or stick with Hal Robson-Kanu - who scored a screamer on New Year's Eve on his first West Brom start. Tough call.

"I keep telling people, with these 25-man squads it's the people outside the 11 that actually determine the spirit and togetherness in the dressing room," said Pulis.

"Hal's willingness to work and join in, even though he's only been almost a bit-part player, because of Salomon, has been fantastic. I can't speak more highly of his character. He's just so wholehearted."

Praise. He still left him out though.

Hal Robson-Kanu exits the tunnel and takes his place on the bench. He gave the waiting mascots a high-five but didn't look too happy. He rarely does from what I've seen but today maybe he has cause for frustration. Why? I'll go big on that next...

What was it Shakira sang? Wonderful lyrics if I recall:

    "Tsamina mina eh eh,

    "Waka waka eh eh,

    "Tsamina mina zangalewa,

    "This time for Africa...."

This will be the last Premier League action for players tasked with competing at the Africa Cup of Nations of course.

West Brom will lose substitute Allan Nyom - even though he wanted to withdraw from Cameroon's squad in December., external

Hull City will wave Dieumerci Mbokani and Ahmed Elmohamady off - both start.

The tournament in Gabon gets going on 14 January and concludes on 5 February.

West Brom v Hull City (15:00 GMT)

There are 11 West Brom mascots in the tunnel and one lonely Hull City mascot. No needle, no pushing or handbags, just a lot of excitement as they await their heroes arrival from the dressing room. On the pitch, flags are fluttering on the pitch, we should have the teams in a matter of moments...

Now Hull fans, I want you to be positive, it is a new year after all. You can get out of this mess. Come on, believe.

You do after all have a magician in your ranks in Robert Snodgrass. The guy is taking free-kicks like Zinedine Zidane and generally playing out of his skin. The Scot has been involved in half of Hull's goals no less. That's six goals and two assists.

Whatever happens, he is unlikely to be playing the the Championship next season.

The sun is beating down, some are shielding their eyes in the crowd - it's January by the way.

West Brom go through some shooting drills to sharpen up ahead of a fixture with a side who know a thing or two about shipping chances.

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer said West Brom boss Tony Pulis could not bench Hal Robson-Kanu after his stunning strike at Southampton - he has. Salomon Rondon is in, he's the club's top scorer of course.

The only other Baggies change sees left-back Allan Nyom dropped for James Morrison - a change which will see Chris Brunt drop into the back four.

West Brom XI: Foster, Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Brunt, Yacob, Fletcher, Phillips, Morrison, Chadli, Rondon.

Hull make two changes, Sam Clucas comes in for Andrew Roberston on the left and David Meyler is dropped for Tom Huddlestone to take up a place in midfield.

Ahmed Elmohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani , externalboth have permission to play before heading to Gabon for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Hull XI: Marshall, Maguire, Davies, Dawson, Livermore, Huddlestone, Clucas, Elmohamady, Snodgrass, Mbokani, Diomande.

I can confirm Salomon Rondon is warming up wearing a snood. I'm not sure how I feel about such attire, or that of the gent above. Rondon forms the main team news line. I'll bring you all of that next...

Good afternoon you lovely bunch and happy new year and all that.

The Hawthorns is undoubtedly icy could today but I have a feeling this game will be blood and thunder - enough to warm the heart of even the most chilling figure.

Speaking of chilling figures, Tony Pulis is doing the business again isn't he? The Baggies could move seventh today. Lofty.

So far, Christmas and 2017 have been great to me as this is my second West Brom live text in three days. I feel like I've peaked too early, where can this year go from here? The only way is down.

The only way may well be down for Hull City. Poor old Mike Phelan asked for half a dozen new players for Christmas. He must have been naughty last year, because Santa didn't deliver - Ahmed Elmohamady is still carving out a living for the Tigers.

The Baggies - boing boing - can't wait for 2017. What is there to fear when you have a front man better than Pele, Maradona and Eusebio combined? Hal Robson-Kanu, what a guy.
