Liverpool's Lucas Leiva on Ben Woodburn: "He is a brilliant young player. He did very well. He just needs to keep learning, keep improving. A goal will give him confidence to keep learning, to keep going."

Leiva on the Chapecoense players who died in a plane crash in Colombia: "It was a terrible accident. I have a few people that I played with, some young players. No surprise that Hayden is off, as he was cramping up just before the break. They will play two up front with Murphy coming on, as they have the extra man and they want to take advantage of it.

Sub Daryl Murphy almost scores seconds after coming on, but his powerful header is pushed to safety by Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.

Back under way for the final 15 minutes. Can anyone grab a winner or will be go all the way to the dreaded penalty shootout?

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Ben Woodburn: "We all know how young he is, but it doesn't look like this in training sessions. It's a nice story and all the boys are really happy for him. everybody is smiling in the dressing room. 

"We made a few changes and Leeds is a very strong side, but I don't think there was a lot for them to earn in the game. We weren't the most creative side tonight. We could've done better, and we did in the second half. We created more, so it's a deserved win. We are in the semis so all good."

How different this is from the rest of the game. It has been really entertaining - we have a couple of minutes before the half-time break of extra-time, and you wouldn't be surprised if there was another goal!

Liverpool defensive legend Jamie Carragher is fondly remembering his early days (day?) as a goalscoring midfielder. He scored on his first start for Liverpool, as an 18-year-old, against Aston Villa at Anfield.

In the first part of the game, Hull were were awful, absolutely awful but there has been a total lack of creativity for Newcastle in the final third. The shooting has not been good enough.
