Atletico's Diego Godin goes down under pressure from Raphael Varane but no penalty. Think it was the fans rather than players appealing.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone: "We know that for a long time they were much better than us. Nowadays we compete at the same level as them. As I have explained before, this is just a game, not a complete league. A game is a game and anything can happen.

"We understand that the rival is an important team. They haven't lost in the last 28 matches. They have extraordinary players and that is why they won two Champions Leagues.

"We will have to move the game to where we feel more comfortable and play with the intensity a game like this requires."

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:45 GMT)

The game could be the last derby at Atletico's Vicente Calderon as they are due to move to the Estadio Olimpico de Madrid in the summer.

“It's a beautiful ground, with beautiful support," said Real boss Zinedine Zidane.

"Real Madrid players are used to playing at all kinds of stadiums and in heated atmospheres. We are familiar with this ground and we know it's going to be a tough game.

“It's not only special for me, but the derby is special for every Madridista. It might be the last one at the Calderon. It's special for both sets of fans.

"People speak about hate between fans and the teams, but seeing this derby is magnificent and I hope we get a beautiful game of football.

“We have to forget the negative aspects, the hate, and have a good time."

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (19:45 GMT)

A Real Madrid win here would take them four points clear of Barcelona at the top - and nine above Atletico, who are fifth at the moment.

However, an Atleti win would take them up to third, within three points of their rivals.

As well as a derby, this is potentially a big day in the Spanish title race.
