It's genuinely pretty difficult to tell both sets of players apart as Milan and Inter are wearing their home kits, which heavily feature black. 

Not that it probably bothers you if you aren't watching the match.

We've had our first shot of the derby but Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia heads it over from a corner.

Antonio Candreva has a good chance to whip in a cross from the right but it's straight over the crossbar. Poor from Inter. Almost 10 minutes gone.

Saint-Etienne have had the first chance of the game in Ligue 1 with Nolan Roux racing clear before firing into the side netting.

New Inter boss Stefano Piolo's biggest decision today was to start midfielder Gary Medel at centre-back. And he's being tormented early on by Milan striker M'Baye Niang, who has lots of pace. A key battle in this match perhaps?

Ivan Perisic - definitely over his injury - wins a corner for Inter Milan. They take it short and when they eventually try a cross, it's easily cleared.

An early penalty shout for AC Milan as M'Baye Niang goes down under pressure from Gary Medel, who appeared to have his hands on the striker. Referee says goal-kick though.

Michael Glasper: Irrespective of both team's diminished status, the Milan derby is one of the world's greatest spectacles. 

Inter's Ivan Perisic is the first player of the game to suffer an injury, but it was an awkward landing rather than a foul and he's OK to continue.

The Game is underway in Ligue 1 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Today is the 165th Milan derby in Serie A. Inter have won 61 to Milan's 51. 

However, AC Milan won the most recent meeting, 3-0 back in January.

AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella: "Stefano Pioli couldn't work a lot on tactics, therefore he had to work on the players' mentality. 

"If you look at the individual players, Inter are at Juve's level, we mustn't underestimate this match. We have to play at our best, with hunger and a slight touch of fear, like we did against Juve."
