Thanks for joining us today for a thoroughly entertaining game. It's rare Barcelona are lucky to pick up a point against a side not from Madrid. But that was the case today.

Join us next weekend for El Clasico, which has the annoying kick-off time of 15:15 GMT.

Real Sociedad put in one of the performances of the season and dominated Barcelona here. They won on possession (52%-48%), shots (17-10), shots on target (6-2) and corners (8-6).

But as good as they were, they could not find a second goal. Well not one the referee would allow anyway.

If Barca play like that next weekend, against Real Madrid's more clinical finishers, they will lose - and they will be nine points adrift.

For Barcelona, it is their eighth attempt without a win in away games with Real Sociedad. Unless they have another chance in the cup this season, that run will now stretch a decade.

They last won at Anoeta in May 2007.

And crucially they are now six points behind Real Madrid going into next Saturday's meeting with their arch-rivals.

Real Sociedad, who miss the chance to go into the Champions League places, were so unlucky not to win today - Carlos Vela hit the woodwork twice and Juanmi had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside. It wasn't even close.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 85 mins

Just before that change, Denis Suarez got booked for a foul on Carlos Vela, who has looked like a world beater today.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

Real Sociedad make their final change as Esteban Granero, once of QPR, comes on for his first appearance of the season. He replaces Mikel Oyarzabal in midfield.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 83 mins

Carlos Vela hits the woodwork for the second time. Barcelona's defence stand off and let him shoot, his effort from the edge of the box clips the base of the post. Real Sociedad have been so good here, they really should be ahead.

  16. Postpublished at 82 mins

Luis Suarez blazes a shot over from inside the box. He's had a really poor game.

Kyle:  The way Barcelona have defended this weekend is very worrying ahead of next weekend's clash with Real Madrid.

If they play like this next weekend, they will lose 5-0

  18. Postpublished at 81 mins

Barcelona have one of their best chances of the game as Denis Suarez goes around the keeper but his effort is cleared off the line.

And from the corner, Javier Mascherano heads wide.

  19. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 77 mins

I'm upgrading that last entry. We've just seen a replay. Real Sociedad should be ahead. Carlos Vela's shot didn't cross the line, but Juanmi - who tapped home the rebound seconds after coming on - was miles onside when Vela hit his shot.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 77 mins

Real Sociedad are so close to going ahead again. Carlos Vela has a go from 20 yards and it hits the crossbar - it must go close to being over the line. The rebound is slammed home, but ruled out for offside. Vela's shot would have counted though.
