Real Sociedad make a change with attacking midfielder Sergio Canales, once of Real Madrid, replacing captain Xabi Prieto.

Real Sociedad putting together a great passing move, but their player slips just as he's about to shoot and it's wide.

  5. Postpublished at 69 mins

Lionel Messi has scored five goals with his last seven shots on target for Barcelona.

  6. Postpublished at 65 mins

It's a really open game, last-ditch tackles at both ends. There are 25 minutes for Barcelona to win at Real Sociedad for the first time in almost 10 years. There are 25 minutes for La Real to beat Barca for the FIFTH home league meeting in a row.

  7. Postpublished at 65 mins

Luis Suarez is through on goal, goes around the goalkeeper and taps home. But he's offside, the whistle went before his shot.

  8. Postpublished at 64 mins

There's not much between the sides now. Barcelona have been much better than they were, but they aren't outplaying Real Sociedad at all.

  9. Postpublished at 62 mins

Unlucky for Real Sociedad, Willian Jose goes past Gerard Pique but loses his balance just as he's about to pull the trigger.

    Lionel Messi

It's totally against the run of play but Barcelona are level. Neymar skips past a defender or two on the left wing and crosses to Lionel Messi, who takes a touch around the penalty spot before smashing the ball home. Good goal - but not reflective of the game at all.

Has that goal acted as a wake-up call to Barcelona? Not at all. For the second time Jordi Alba, who almost came off injured earlier on, denies Carlos Vela.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 57 mins

It's almost 2-0 to Real Sociedad but Jordi Alba's last-ditch tackle denies Carlos Vela. Barca have looked as bad as I've ever seen them.

Javier Mascherano was booked for a foul moments after the goal by the way.

    Willian Jose

Real Sociedad finally deservedly lead. It's an absolute defensive shambles from Barcelona.

Carlos Vela goes past Javier Mascherano, who should do much better. His shot is saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but only as far as Willian Jose.

The Brazilian, who once had a loan spell at Real Madrid, heads towards goal from the edge of the box and Gerard Pique kicks the ball into his own net, possibly with his injured foot.

    It's Willian Jose's goal though.

Real Sociedad's Mikel Oyarzabal is down injured after a challenge with Denis Suarez and it looks like he might have to come off.

Meanwhile, Barca defender Gerard Pique is getting extra strapping on his leg. Marlon warms up again.

Barcelona have their first shot on target as Neymar fires in the 20-yard free-kick but Geronimo Rulli denies him with a good diving save. Better from the visitors.

  16. Postpublished at 50 mins

A rare dribble by Neymar in this game results in a free-kick as he's pulled back. Barca pass the ball around for a while from the free-kick before winning a set-piece in a possible shooting location.

Denis Suarez's first act is to play a fairly weak backpass to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, which the Barcelona keeper clears just before he's closed down. A bright start to this first half too from Real Sociedad.

The second half is under way now.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

Well, Barcelona do make a half-time change, but it's not one of their struggling defenders. Ivan Rakitic is replaced by Denis Suarez in midfielder. A bit of a surprise switch.
