The Lionesses showed grit in a game of few chances in Tilburg but came away with a hard-fought win to extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches.

That was a very difficult game for England as the Dutch made it hard for them, but England managed to solve the problems the Dutch created. They have ground out a win, which is sometimes what you need to do, especially in tournament football. That is now 10 matches unbeaten, and now Mark Sampson can work on things in the New Year. 

It was Jodie Taylor's ruthlessness which proved the difference between the sides. The Netherlands had 11 attempts on goal, but only three on target, while England created fewer chances - six attempts on goal - but were more accurate in their shooting, with four shots on target.

It is difficult for a goalkeeper to stay concentrated when they haven't been called into action, but Karen Bardsley has done her job well.

The final whistle blows. England are victorious. Mark Sampson's team are now unbeaten in 10 matches. A hard-fought win to end a successful year. 

Oof. A knee-knocking ending. Sippie Folkertsma has an opportunity to level, but she shoots directly at Karen Bardsley. We've gone beyond the three minutes of stoppage time. 

 Alex Scott replaces Isobel Christiansen. Mark Sampson was becoming increasingly frustrated on the sidelines as England were made to wait an age to make the substitution. 

Shanice Van de Sanden earns the Netherlands a corner. A final twist? Ellen Jansen, at the near post, gets to the ball first - but she is unable to find the target. 

We're into the final three minutes... Demi Stokes' clearances is charged down, van der Gragt, a central defender by trade, has been moved up front but is unable to get the ball from underneath her feet. England off the hook.

I think England can be happy, given they have a lot of key players missing. I think they are in a good position going into the Euros. 

So good, it's worth watching again. Take a look at Jodie Taylor's ruthless finish, which looks likely to be the strike which wins the match. 

The Netherlands manoeuver their way into opposition territory, decibels rise inside the stadium...Sherida Spitse takes aim from distance, but her effort is high and wide and never in danger of troubling Karen Bardsley.

The hosts' spirit has been dampened by that Jodie Taylor strike and England are on course to extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches. We're into the closing stages and the visitors are dominating possession. 

Mark Sampson shuffles his pack once again. Karen Carney has done enough, he says, and the playmaker is replaced by Fara Williams.

After dominating much of the match, the hosts find themselves a goal behind with just over 10 minutes remaining. England have been steady in defence, if unspectacular up front. 

England have improved significantly in this half and nearly took the lead through Toni Duggan. Take a look at the striker's wonderful touch which nearly led to a brilliant goal.

That is brilliant from England to absorb that pressure from the Netherlands, and then break. Initially they win the ball through Jordan Nobbs, and then what a pass. What a finish - so clinical - it is so good to see Jodie Taylor back. She is effective, makes those intelligent runs and when she gets into those positions she is calm. 

Sippie Folkertsma makes her senior international debut from the substitutes' bench. A moment to treasure. Lineth Beerensteyn is the player to make way.
