  1. No goals to show in the Championshippublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2016

That's right. We're about 15 minutes into the Championship 15:00 GMT kick-offs and we are yet to get a single goal... Let's hope for some change in that department.

  2. Big movers at the bottompublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2016

At the bottom of League One we could have ourselves a few big movers.

Bottom-of-the-table Shrewsbury are on track for a second successive league win as they lead Bristol Rovers courtesy of Louis Dodds' first-half goal.

And Chesterfield, second-from-bottom at the start of the day, lead high-flying Bolton Wanderers.

    Burton 1-2 Newcastle

Burton v NewcastleImage source, Rex Features

Burton win a free-kick in a superb position around 25 yards from goal, but Jackson Irvine's strike is straight into the wall. Very disappointing for the Brewers.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Rotherham

It's still goalless at Hillsborough but Tom Adeyemi has just come close to giving the Championship's bottom side the lead at a side pushing for the play-offs.

His strike is just wide of Keiren Westwood's post.

    Bristol City 0-1 Preston

Bristol City striker Tammy Abraham is better known for scoring goals, but he's just saved one off the line at Ashton Gate after Paul Huntington turned a free-kick towards goal.

City have lost five of their last six and Lee Johnson needs to see a change in his side.

I asked what could Cardiff do to get back into the game...

Well, Junior Hoilett has just hit the post for the Welsh side, who clearly have Neil Warnock's half-time 'comments' wringing in their ears.

What, oh what is to come in the second half at Gigg Lane where twice Bury have taken the lead, only for Chris Maguire to twice level for Oxford United.

Bury are a side in desperate need of a pick-me-up - they are on a club-record 11-match losing run in the league and are winless in 15 games in all competitions, dating back to 27 September.

Their goals have come from James Vaughan and Tom Pope.

  8. Back outpublished at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2016

We're getting back under way across the EFL.

Will Newcastle hold on against Burton? Will the South Yorkshire derby between Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham get more interesting? What can Neil Warnock's Cardiff do to get back into the game against Barnsley? We're about to find out.

  11. Nelson to the rescue for Gillspublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2016

I'll say it - goalkeepers tend to get a raw deal when penalties are 'missed'.

In League One, Gillingham give a bit of a hero's nod to keeper Stuart Nelson for denying MK Dons' Dean Bowditch in the first minute of first-half injury-time. Goalless it stays at Priestfield Stadium at the break.

So, Yeovil Town supporters making the arduous 660-mile round trip to Carlisle in League Two have been rewarded with a pie and pint courtesy of the players and manager.

Newcastle have been under the proverbial cosh in this match but have scored two goals!

Burton defender Damien McCrory allows Mo Diame to roll him, drive through on goal and slot home past Jon McLaughlin.

That came shortly after defender Paul Dummett saved a certain Burton goal...
