    Swansea 0-2 Arsenal

That second has now been given as a Jack Cork own goal, not to Alex Iwobi as first thought.

    Jack Cork (own goal)

It was coming like a train.

Swansea fail to clear their lines and are punished, albeit it is a little unfortunate.

Alex Iwobi had a sighter earlier and this time gets his shot away. From the angle, his strike comes off Jack Cork and loops over the helpless Lukasz Fabianski and into the net.

    Game over you would think.

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

Backs to the walls now for Swansea.

Alexis Sanchez plays a superb throughball to Aaron Ramsey, who turns and shoots from six yards out, but the effort is well saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal looking to put this game to bed now.

Alexis Sanchez and Alex Iwobi both have shots from inside the area in quick succession, but the efforts are blocked by strong Swansea defending.

That is the sort of commitment Paul Clement will need throughout the remainder of the season...assuming he lasts until then.

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

A smart move started by Alexis Sanchez, who turned beautifully on the halfway line. He feeds the ball out wide to Alex Iwobi, but his ball into the box is cut out by a Swansea man.

Olivier Giroud was sniffing another just in behind there.

One of Paul Clement’s priorities is to improve the Swans’ defence – the most porous in the Premier League – and the former Bayern Munich assistant manager will have been encouraged by the way his players initially shackled Arsenal with their high pressing.

But the home side were a little slack for Olivier Giroud's goal, undoing their early good work.

The home fans seem encouraged, judging by their cries of 'Paul Clement's Barmy Army'.

Olivier Giroud looks like he has made a recovery and is back out in the second half. I am told it is a toe injury he is hobbling around with.

  10. Swans' shots are all from distancepublished at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

Swansea have had their moments in this game but, other than that penalty shout, not many of them have come in the Arsenal area - they only managed four touches in there in the first 45 minutes.

All five of the Swans' shots have come from outside the box and, tellingly, none of them have come from their main striker Fernando Llorente.

Only one of those five efforts have been on target, too. Kyle Naughton's low drive that almost sneaked past Petr Cech, shown by the green arrow above. The red arrows are off target, the yellow circle is an effort that was blocked.

So, signs of improvement from the Swans - but more needed from them up front in the second half.

  13. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Swansea 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal have been sloppy in possession today and Mesut Ozil gives the ball away in his own half after trying a cross-field pass.

It is picked up by Nathan Dyer, who makes his way towards the edge of the area, but then smashes a drive over the crossbar.

    Wasted.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

Penalty?? The crowd think it is, but then again, they usually do.

Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-yueng does down in the box under a Laurent Koscielny challenge and Mike Jones blows his whistle.

    He strides into the area...

...and books the South Korean for simulation.

    BRILLIANT decision.

Ki left a trailing leg on Koscielny, but Jones was not buying it. Well done ref.

A reminder that Swansea have lost 12 games when they have gone behind this season.

Paul Clement has plenty of work to do if he wants his side to turn this match around.

  17. goal

GOAL - Swansea 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 37 mins

    Olivier Giroud

One chance, that is all this guy needs.

Arsenal have barely been in the game but take the lead and it brings Arsene Wenger out of his seat.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey gets to the byline and cuts it across the box all the way through to Alexis Sanchez on the other side.

The Chilean chips it back into the box towards the head of Mesut Ozil, whose effort comes off Alfie Mawson, nicely into the path of Olivier Giroud to tuck in from close range.

The Frenchman wheels away in celebration - which is a grimace. He may not be able to carry on.
