Bayern have slowed the game down since Arsenal took the lead.

The Germans are dominating possession but the Gunners are carving out the better chances.

If Arsenal could get another goal before half-time it would make things very interesting.

The first 10 minutes all went to Bayern. It's all been Arsenal since then. When Theo Walcott got into the position on the right he didn't see a team-mate so he thought he'd try his luck. The shot had a lot of pace on it, but I would have expected Manuel Neuer to stop that

Hope springs eternal - and Emirates Stadium is suddenly alive with just a bit of hope.

The normally placid Carlo Ancelotti has his arms outstretched towards his players, perhaps sending a touch of complacency from Bayern Munich.

The atmosphere inside the Emirates is totally different to what it was at kick-off.

Arsenal fans are roaring their side forward and the home players are responding with a high-octane display.

If only they had played like this in the second half in Germany.

    Arsenal 1-0 Bayern Munich

Wow. Arsenal have the early goal they wanted thanks to an emphatic finish by Theo Walcott.

He thrashes a shot high into the net that gives Manuel Neuer no chance.

It's now 5-2 to Bayern on aggregate. Work for Arsenal to do but it's a positive start.

Arsene Wenger is spending most of his time seated while his opposite number Carlo Ancelotti is parked permanently in his technical area.

Not sure what to read into that body language - but Arsenal have made a lively and spirited start.

    Napoli 0-0 Real Madrid

Napoli in total control so far at the San Paolo.

Their high-press is suffocating the Real Madrid midfield who can't pick a pass to Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale.

Two corners for the home side, a half-chance for Marek Hamsik and a fizzing shot from distance from Lorenzo Insigne which goes just wide of the left-post.

The crowd, and the players, are certainly up for this one.

    Arsenal 0-0 Bayern Munich

Arsenal need an early goal. Theo Walcott has a chance inside the area but loses control just as he is about to shoot. There's a good tempo about Arsene Wenger's side.

Alexis Sanchez has come out all guns blazing and Olivier Giroud is causing problems in the air.

Agonising for Arsenal as Olivier Giroud nods against a post from close range after a looping cross by Alexis Sanchez. Giroud punches in the air in frustration and yells something I am not allowed to repeat.

This is better by the Gunners.

    That's more like it.

Alexis Sanchez - who else? - lifts the crowd with a superb defence-splitting pass to Theo Walcott but Manuel Neuer spots the danger early and comes flying off his line to snuff out of the danger on the edge of his area.

This could be another long night for the Gunners.

Arjen Robben's teasing run into the penalty area sets off alarm bells before David Alaba has a pop from distance. It's wide. It's all Bayern.

Thousands of Bayern fans have made the journey to London. They're holding up a banner "Without fans football is not worth a penny".

    Good point.

Bayern are dominating possession. Arsenal are doing an awful lot of chasing but no chances for either side.

Lots of empty seats around Emirates Stadium at kick-off. Not exactly a sign of hope and anticipation from Arsenal's fans.

Bizarre scenes. The match is less than a minute old when it is stopped due to toilet rolls thrown on to the pitch by Bayern fans. Stewards take a minute or two to clear all the paper off the pitch before play resumes.
