Ouch indeed. Mario Mandzukic gets his left foot stuck in the turf under a tackle from Dani Carvajal.

Juve have lost six European Cup finals don't forget. An unwanted record.

Juventus could have been forgiven for being revisited by some old Champions League Final demons after Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real Madrid the lead - but how they have responded.

Mario Mandzukic has been reinvented in Turin and that was a goal of technique, imagination and athleticism from the 31-year-old.

It did hit his arm there. You can always tell by the reaction from the Juventus players how serious the shout was.

That free-kick was handled in the wall by Cristiano Ronaldo but he got away with it. Karim Benzema then clatters somebody with a swinging arm. There's no love lost out there, a really great final so far.

Juve now win a free-kick as Paulo Dybala is chopped down again. Low, stocky, hard man to get a hold of.

He hits a free-kick into the wall though. Andrea Pirlo would have liked that one.

Mario Mandzukic, who scored for Bayern at Wembley in 2013, is the third player to score in the European Cup final for two different teams after Velibor Vasovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo then duffs a good chance as he miscues a header and puts it well off target! He was free - that's a very big chance for him.

There's a lovely battle developing between Sandro and Carvajal. At every opportunity one is attacking the other. It's lovely to watch.

Cristiano Ronaldo now tries an overhead kick and catches it well but it's blocked by a defender. Sergio Ramos is then booked for some halfway line wrestling.

That could be ominous. He likes a red.

This is a cracking final. Not the cagey game you often get, both teams attacking and open. Paulo Dybala slaloms away from a tackle and is then put on his backside by a strong tackle. No card.

Lovely footage of Gigi Buffon celebrating that equaliser too. Juve fans buzzing now.

My word what a finish that is. With his back to goal he had no option but to try the overhead kick! He tried it and Navas had no chance. That was one hell of a finish. What a strike! He catches it so sweet.

  13. goal

GOAL - Juventus 1-1 Real Madridpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

    Mario Mandzukic (27 mins)

    Oh yes! Overhead kick!

A superb equaliser from the Croatian Peter Crouch as Mario Mandzukic scores a goal that nobody else on the pitch could probably have found!

Alex Sandro puts the ball in from the left, it's headed to Mandzukic about 15 yards out, on the left of the area, he chests it up and then with two defenders right in his face he manages to hook an acrobatic effort up and over them, and over Keylor Navas and into the top corner.

    Brilliant.

This is open! First Isco is a perfect touch away from running into the area and then at the other end Sami Khedira has loads of room on the left but can't put a good ball in.

There could be more goals in this.

What can Juve do now though? Real Madrid had a strong few minutes in the build-up to that goal, which was brilliantly taken.

Unbelievable finish. There were three in the box and no one within five yards of him. He doesn't even look up - he knows where the goal is. It was too quick for Juventus.

    Cristiano Ronaldo (20 mins)

    Magic!

Big names do it in big games! Cristiano Ronaldo makes this look so easy, it's a fabulous goal. Ronaldo plays the ball out to Dani Carvajal overlapping on the right, he instantly puts the ball back into the middle and Ronaldo steers it low, side-footed, past Gigi Buffon and into the corner.

That was sweetly struck. Right into the corner.
