IMMSY: Ronaldo won his first trophy with United at Cardiff...

That's right. Ronaldo and Manchester United beat Wigan 4-0 in the League Cup final (then named the Carling Cup) to take all the glory in Cardiff back in 2006.

The Real Madrid star scored in the 59th minute, joining Wayne Rooney (2) and Luis Saha on the score-sheet.

Will Cardiff be the place where Gianluigi Buffon lifts his first Champions League trophy? It could be Ronaldo's fourth...

    I'm having chilling flashbacks now.

There isn't any argument against his record. Zidane has spent 17 years at this club and he's done it with 11 different managers, around three different presidents and he's been in a variety of roles.

He knows this club inside out. He is the ideal man to coach these players. Zidane may not be able to go somewhere else and start from scratch but right here, right now, he is the best manager to work with these players.

When Zinedine Zidane took over as manager of Real Madrid in January 2016, he was widely seen as a caretaker, an option to the end of the season.

I don't think many people saw him winning the Champions League back-to-back, as well as winning La Liga after a five-year wait.

What a job. What a player. What a man.

    A few Zizou stats:

    • Zidane became the first French coach to lift the Champions League trophy in 2016.
    • He can become the 10th manager to win the trophy two years in a row and the first since Arrigo Sacchi with AC Milan in 1989 and 1990.
    • Zidane was the fourth manager to win the trophy both as player and manager with the same club, after Muñoz (Real Madrid), Ancelotti (AC Milan) and Guardiola (Barcelona).
    • As a player, Zidane played in three CL finals. He lost two finals with Juventus, in 1997 (lost 3-1 v Borussia Dortmund) and in 1998 (lost 1-0 v Real Madrid), and he won the final in 2002 with Real Madrid (2-1 v Bayer Leverkusen).
