  • Gomes makes two acrobatic saves to deny Bournemouth

  1. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Another corner for the hosts but it's all a bit scrappy as King can't sort his feet out in the area and Watford hack it long.

  2. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

A flurry of activity here - first Bournemouth want a penalty for handball against Doucoure but Lee Mason is having none of it. Didn't look intentional.

Moments later Ryan Fraser works himself free on the left, cutting on to his right foot and forcing Gomes into a save, with the ball flashing across the face of goal.

Corner to Bournemouth but nothing doing as Watford eventually clear.

  3. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Bournemouth and composed defending are utterly foreign to each other right now. This time Adam Smith skies an attempted clearance straight up, forcing Artur Boruc to punch away.

  4. CLOSE!published at 54 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Well it was all Bournemouth but that defence still opens up when pushed.

This time it's Holebas cutting inside on to his supposedly weaker right foot before unleashing a powerful effort that Boruc needs to touch around the post.

It may have been going wide anyway but the Cherries keeper needed to make sure.

  5. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Tide. Turned. Bournemouth well on top now and the home crowd a lot more vocal.

King is down briefly but back on his feet now.

  6. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 1-1 Watfordpublished at 47 mins

    Joshua King

A lovely goal from the Cherries and the perfect start to the second half.

Adam Smith drifts in from the right, bursting clear of the Watford defence to square the ball for Joshua King to steer in to the empty net.

Brilliant from Smith. King couldn't miss. Only his second goal in 15 Premier League appearances but a crucial strike.

  7. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Bournemouth get an early corner... but it's poor from Stanislas and doesn't beat the first man.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

We're back under way at the Vitality Stadium.

  9. Postpublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Bournemouth had 60% possession in that first half, making over 100 more passes than Watford.

But that counts for little if you continue to be as shaky in defence as Bournemouth have been here.

  11. Postpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

A strange half in many ways. The Cherries on top in the early stages before their defensive frailties came back to haunt them, conceding a needless corner, that led to a sloppy goal.

Watford hadn't threatened much before that but then grew in stature and caused plenty of panic, if little end product, in the Bournemouth box for a while.

But Eddie Howe's side looked the better team again towards the break.

It's all set up for an intriguing second half.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Stanislas has a fairly tame effort that Gomes easily holds just before the break.

Gomes shouts for his team to push up, revealing a fetching green mouthguard.

    And that's the half-time whistle.

  13. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Agonising for Andrew Surman as he just fails to get his shot away when free in the box.

More neat interplay between Wilshere and Stanislas on the edge of the area opens Watford up as the ball is slipped towards Surman, but he can't connect.

  14. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

The hosts are looking much better again now, controlling possession and looking for that opening.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 41 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Another acrobatic tip over from Gomes, similar to the first save. This time it's Junior Stanislas driving at the Watford defence, his cross deflected up and looping in, only for Gomes to extend a limb and scoop it over.

Perhaps poor positioning in the first instance from Gomes but he makes up for it in some style.

  16. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Holebas goes full-Delap with a long throw from deep, Watford sensing that the hosts will panic under any high ball in the box.

Steve Cook does his best to prove them right, slicing his clearance straight up in the air, the ball eventually coming to Holebas again, whose cross is headed clear by a Bournemouth head this time.

  17. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Simon Francis is sitting out the third of his three-game ban for that red card against Arsenal.

Nathan Ake is back with parent club Chelsea.

Marc Wilson is out with a hamstring injury.

There are three decent factors behind Bournemouth's recent defensive woes, but they'll still feel there are no excuses for how shaky they look at the back.

  18. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Tyrone Mings needs to breathe here, this time handing the ball straight to Tom Cleverley who spins his strike, bending towards the left-hand post but there's not enough swerve on it to trouble Artur Boruc.

Not too far away from a first goal on his first start for Cleverley.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Bit of penalty-box pinball in the Cherries' area, which suits Watford and seems to send the hosts into a tailspin.

The ball drops Bournemouth's way this time though as they block a couple of scuffed Watford efforts.

  20. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Watford

Jack Wilshere hit the same post twice at Vicarage Road in October - and that's about the closest he's come to scoring for Bournemouth since joining them on loan.

This attempt is not close, however, blasting it well over from 25 yards out.
