Indeed, these sides have been fairly neck and neck for a few years now - Bournemouth beating Watford to the Championship title by a single point in 2014-15.

The last meeting between these two sides was a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road in October.

After that game Watford lay 11th - where the Cherries now are - and Bournemouth 12th, while the Hornets have fallen to 14th.

A win for Walter Mazzarri's side would take them back above Bournemouth, who will move into the top 10 should they take all three points here.

The precedent isn't great for positive results between these two sides - five of the last six games have ended in draws, including all three Premier League encounters.

You need to go back to 30 January 2015 for the last win - the Cherries beating the Hornets 2-0 in the Championship.

You need to go even further back for Watford's last league win at Bournemouth - a 1-0 victory on 29 March 1997 - when current boss Eddie Howe was playing for the Cherries.

Back in the present, both sides are still looking for their first Premier League wins of 2017.

    Bournemouth v Watford (15:00 GMT)

Bournemouth make two changes from the side who lost 3-1 to Hull last time out as Josh King and Callum Wilson come in for Harry Arter and Benik Afobe. The Cherries have leaked nine goals in three matches but boss Eddie Howe perhaps sees attack at the best form of defence with King and Wilson in from the start...

Bournemouth XI: Boruc, A. Smith, Cook, Mings, Daniels, Surman, Wilshere, Stanislas, King, Fraser, Wilson.

Subs: Gosling, Pugh, Arter, Afobe, B. Smith, Federici, Ibe.

Watford hand a first start to recent loan signing Tom Cleverley, who replaces the injured Valon Behrami in midfield. The Hornets are otherwise unchanged from their goalless draw with Middlesbrough last weekend.

Watford XI: Gomes, Kaboul, Prodl, Britos, Kabasele, Capoue, Cleverley, Holebas, Doucoure, Deeney, Okaka.

Subs: Cathcart, Zuniga, Sinclair, Janmaat, Ighalo, Pantilimon, Mason.

    Bournemouth v Watford (15:00 GMT)

    Hello.

What happens when a team shipping goals meets a team that cannot score?

Well we're about to find out - Bournemouth have conceded three goals in seven of their last nine league games, while Watford are on a six-game winless league run in which they have scored just twice.

A goalless draw, goals galore or something in between?
