Summary

  • Lukaku scores after 30secs - joint-fastest league goal of the season

  • Lookman makes first Premier League start for Everton

  • Bournemouth make four changes from defeat to Crystal Palace

  1. Big day for Lookmanpublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

So, what can Ademola Lookman do to influence this match today?

The 19-year-old has certainly hit the ground running since his £11m arrival from Charlton, with a goal on his debut off the bench in last month's big win over Manchester City.

Bournemouth are without right-back Adam Smith due to injury today, so there could well be opportunities for Lookman to do some damage down the left-hand side.

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

    • The Cherries have only won one of their last seven league games and are still seeking their first victory of 2017 in any competition.
    • They have either conceded three goals or none in each of their last six league away games, keeping two clean sheets.
    • Eddie Howe's side have dropped an unrivalled 15 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season.

    Mark Lawrenson
    Former Liverpool defender

I don't see the Cherries getting anything at Goodison Park, where Everton have only lost once in 11 league games this season, but I am usually wrong about them.

    Prediction: 2-0

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Everton

    • Ronald Koeman's side are unbeaten in six league games since Christmas (W4, D2). It is their longest run without defeat this season.
    • Everton's tally of 22 points at home this season is only one shy of their final total at Goodison in 2015-16.
    • Their only league defeat in the last 14 home matches was against Liverpool on 19 December (W8, D5).
    • The Toffees went five hours and one minute without conceding a goal in the Premier League until Peter Crouch scored for Stoke on Wednesday.
    • Ross Barkley has created 48 goalscoring chances in the Premier League this season, the most by an English player.
  5. MATCH FACTSpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Head-to-head

    • Bournemouth beat Everton for the first time at the seventh attempt in September's reverse fixture, when Junior Stanislas scored the winner with their only shot on target.
    • The Cherries could complete the first top-flight double in the club's history.

There's quite a big football game this weekend on the other side of the pond in the American version of the game.

But how would a former NFL star get on with the FA People's Cup keepy-uppy challenge?

A disappointing FA Cup exit aside, 2017 is going rather nicely for Everton - three wins (including the thrashing of Manchester City), one draw and only one goal conceded.

So Bournemouth will travel to Goodison Park with no great expectation that they'll end their record of having lost every game they've ever played there.

When you consider that they've only played at Everton three times that is not actually as bad as it sounds - but another loss would be no surprise.

Eddie Howe's nagging worries about his defence have turned into great clanging alarm bells. They are letting in more than one goal per half on average over the last 11 league games.

With no new faces acquired, a much-needed lift will have to come from within.
