  1. 'That was not acceptable'published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Hull 2-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "At this moment obviously that was not enough. The first half for sure was not enough. We gave both goals away easily, the overall performance was not like it should be.

"It makes no sense for us to play like this. If we played like we did in the second half for the whole game no team can cope with us. But we need to wake up, that was not acceptable.

"I have a lot of thoughts at the moment and I can’t even say a few of them right now because I really need to think about what happened.

"We had a lot of possession, but what is possession? Possession is only good if you create something. It was not like we expected from ourselves. We have to take the criticism, think about it, find a few answers and react."

Alex Haworth: Said this for ages now. Klopp's style of play in unsustainable in a full Premier League season without a winter break.

Ash: Teams will play defensive against Liverpool. They know it works. We haven't adapted. No target man. No wingers. Too narrow.

  4. 'This gives us confidence'published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-4 Sunderland

    Sunderland

Sunderland boss David Moyes: "We knew the task we would be up against today but we took our opportunities when they came along. Once we got the goal you could see that (confidence grew).

"I don't think I can think of many times as a manager I have been 4-0 up at half-time, I don't know if I ever had been.

"We had to not do anything stupid in the second half. There were a couple of times they nearly scored on the counter.

"It gets us three points and more confidence, more belief. It is going to be a tough job but if we had lost it would have been much tougher. Every game is must win."

  6. 'We're conceding too many'published at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Everton 6-3 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman: "You have to try hard to stick your gameplan, but conceding after 40 seconds gives you an uphill task. You can see confidence drop. It makes it difficult.

"At 3-2, there was only one team in it. We had a couple of chances that we didn't take and then the momentum shifted.

"We showed character, but conceding six away from home is very disappointing.

"We're conceding too many at the moment. We'll stick together, that's very important."

  7. 'We have to get to 40 points'published at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Everton 6-3 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe tells BBC Sport: "The start of the game killed us. You can't concede so quickly, it gives you a mountain to climb.

"We got right back in the game, then conceded the fourth to knock the stuffing out of us.

"We tried to do something different today, but it didn't work. Three injuries to defenders have made it difficult.

"We have been looking over our shoulder all season. We want to get to 40 points as quickly as possible."

  8. 'Not good enough'published at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Stoke City

    Stoke City

Stoke City's Erik Pieters: "We started really sloppy and tried to get the equaliser. I myself had a really good chance but overall it wasn't good enough.

"Crouch is good in the air but it doesn't mean we have to play long ball all the time.

"They created a few more chances in the first half and we were lucky it was only 1-0, but it just wasn't good enough."

  9. 'This is a massive, massive win for us'published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-4 Sunderland

    Sunderland

Sunderland goal scorer Jermain Defoe: "We knew it would be a difficult game coming here.

"It is important to try and get results against the teams around you.

"The main thing was to handle the pressure and show courage. We managed to do that and to get goals.

"When you go in at half-time and you are up it is not always easy. You have got to be disciplined, professional and have to keep going and we did that. It is a great win for us.

"I thought the performance was brilliant from the first minute to the last. We have had two games in a week. Credit to the boys, everyone played their part. This is a massive, massive win for us.

"It is not only that we won the game but how we won."

  10. 'We had to dig deep'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Stoke

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom goalscorer James Morrison: "We had to dig deep against a Stoke side who have players that can hurt you. We said at half-time to take our chances.

"We're delighted with the three points, we've got a good bunch of lads here and dig deep for each other. That was a good result because Stoke are on our heels and now we've gained a bit of breathing space."

  12. 'We came out flying'published at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Everton 6-3 Bournemouth

    Everton

Romelu Lukaku, who scored four today: "We started well, we did what we had to do. It’s disappointing we conceded the goals, but we showed mental resilience.

"We said we wanted to come out flying, we worked on it all week. We were sharp and we continued pressing. 3-0 at half-time was good, but after half-time we weren’t mentally sharp.

"We need to see the clips again because if you want to improve we need to get rid of the little problems.

"There’s no lack of confidence. We know that hard work pays off.

"We have to believe that we can catch the teams ahead of us. We need to keep on winning and working hard for each other."

Yahya Ahamed: Klopp is clueless, lacks strategy to cope with defensive teams. He needs to go.

Tom Young: Klopp surely has to consider a tactical change for future games; more & more teams sitting back, and there's no clear Plan B.

Desalegn Hailemariam: Gegenpressing and hardwork can only take you this far. This Liverpool team is depressingly average.
