All over at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have strengthened their grip on the Premier League trophy. The Blues have beaten Arsenal 3-1 to move TWELVE points clear at the top.

Surely there's no stopping them now?

This is an interesting tussle between two teams that are in the bottom half of the table after a season blighted by inconsistency so far.

All eyes will be on Jose Fonte on his return to St Mary's just weeks after giving up the captain's armband at Southampton and moving to West Ham.

Saints fans will be cursing his departure even more now that his former central defensive partner Virgil van Dijk faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

They have been boosted, though, by the arrival of striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who should invigorate an attack that has struggled slightly without the injured Charlie Austin, while West Ham will be hoping Robert Snodgrasscan help make up for the departure of Dimitri Payet.

Southampton v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

Southampton hand a debut to Italy striker Manolo Gabbiadini after his £14m move from Napoli at the end of the transfer window.

He is one of four changes from the side that lost 2-1 at Swansea on Tuesday with James Ward-Prowse, Sofiane Boufal and Jay Rodriguez also starting.

Southampton: Forster, Soares, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Davis, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Boufal, Rodriguez, Gabbiadini. Subs: Gardos, Clasie, Long, Hojbjerg, Taylor, McQueen, Redmond.

  4. New year, fresh optimism at Hull?published at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

The anger Hull fans feel towards their club's owners has by no means abated, but with a rare full house, external set to watch a host of new signings, this could have a 'new season, fresh start' feel - and Marco Silva deserves the credit.

In just a month, he's brought a level of optimism that - due to summer upheaval and uncertainty - wasn't even around when the season started well for Mike Phelan's team.

Liverpool's dwindling levels were lifted by Tuesday's draw with Chelsea, but it won't do to follow that with anything less than a win here.

They haven't had one to cheer the last three times they've been the whole miserable length of the M62 to Hull and back.

  5. Mane starts for Liverpoolpublished at 14:39

Hull City v Liverpool (15:00 GMT)

Hull City boss Marco Silva hands debuts to deadline-day signings Kamil Grosicki and Alfred N’Diaye. Omar Elabdellaoui and Abel Hernandez also come back into the starting line-up.

Hull: Jakupovic, Elabdellaoui, Dawson, Maguire, Robertson, Grosicki, Evandro, Huddlestone, Clucas, N'Diaye, Hernandez. Subs: Meyler, Ranocchia, Maloney, Mbokani, Marshall, Niasse, Tymon.

Two changes for Liverpool as Sadio Mane starts in place of Georginio Wijnaldum, who scored against Chelsea in midweek. Dejan Lovren is ruled out with a knock so Lucas comes into the back four.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Lucas, Matip, Milner, Henderson, Can, Lallana, Coutinho, Mane, Firmino. Subs: Karius, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Sturridge, Moreno, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.

  6. Gabbiadini makes debutpublished at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Southampton v West Ham

Southampton boss Claude Puel hands a debut to Saints new boy Manolo Gabbiadini - not to be confused with ex-Sunderland striker Marco Gabbiadini, who now runs a lovely B&B in York.

Hull City v Liverpool (15:00 GMT)

Liverpool are searching for their first league win of 2017 to keep alive their slender title hopes and Sadio Mane returns to the starting line-up following his return from international duty.

    Full team news to follow.

  8. Berahino back to haunt the Baggies?published at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

West Brom v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

Now normally West Brom versus Stoke isn't the sort of fixture that gets the heart racing but there's a bit of added spice about today's game. That's because Sadio Berahino faces his former club just days after making the switch from West Brom to Stoke. He's on the bench today.

Berahino is not the only player facing his former side since switching clubs in January.

Jose Fonte could be in for a hostile reception when he returns to St Mary's with West Ham and I've just mentioned Patrick van Aanholt, who played a pivotal role in keeping Sunderland up last season. He is up against the Black Cats with new employers Crystal Palace.

Right, without further ado, let's crack on with team news. Plenty of clubs will be showing off their deadline day signings...

  11. Title battle? What title battle?published at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

Let's be honest. The Premier League title race is over. Chelsea are 2-0 up and coasting to victory over Arsenal so all the fun stuff is at the other end of the table.

All three clubs in the relegation zone are in action this afternoon as Hull take on a Liverpool side yet to win in 2017 while there's a real six pointer as Crystal Palace host Sunderland. Tasty.

Here's the 3pm games in full:

Ahh, the weekend. What's the plan? A spot of gardening while the sun's out? A relaxing walk? Hitting the shops or just kicking back and following the afternoon's football?

You just can't beat a couple of days off after a hectic week at work.

That, though, is a luxury Hull City players don't have. Since Marco Silva arrived at the start of January, they have apparently had just the two days off.

Needs must when you are slugging it out at the bottom of table...
