  1. goal

GOAL - Cristiano Ronaldo (pen)published at 67 mins

    Sevilla 0-1 Real Madrid

After all that, Ronaldo looks as if he has not a care in the world. He send Sergio Rico the wrong way, and Real Madrid lead.

  2. PENALTY TO REAL MADRIDpublished at 65 mins

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Disputed call. Sergio Escudero gives the ball away; Dani Carvajal changes down the right. Goalkeeper Sergio Rico charges out to meet him, and gets both ball and man. Carvajal tumbles, the referee points to the spot. Then Vitolo kicks the ball off the penalty spot as Cristiano Ronaldo prepares to step up.

  3. goal

GOAL - Fiorentina 2-0 Juventuspublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Federico Chiesa

Bit of an odd goal, this one. Milan Badelj is, I think, trying to cross the ball from the left rather than go for goal, Federico Chiesa stretches for a touch and guides it in with the Juve defence static.

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos wins the ball on the edge of his own penalty area, then makes a lung-bursting run to the other end after Karim Benzema turns Sergio Escudero to sprint away and play a return pass. Ramos' progress is eventually halted by Adil Rami - but the home fans were getting uneasy there.

Then Cristiano Ronaldo almost finds a way through the home defences on the edge of the area, only to be crowded out.

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Now a chance for Sevilla. Wissam Ben Yedder, who has had a quiet night so far, suddenly has a sight of goal as Samir nasri plays him in. It's on his right foot, and he goes across the goalkeeper, but Keylor Navas gets down to save. It's warming up now.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Fiorentina 1-0 Juventus

Back under way at Stadio Artemio Franchi. What have you got, Juve?

  8. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Real's turn. First Luka Modric sees his hopes of a penalty dashed as first Franco Vazquez and then Sergio Escudero challenge him. Vazquez's nibble is outside the penalty area, and it looks as if Modric runs into Escudero.

Then  Marcelo has a go from 25 yards; the ball whizzes over.

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Vitolo down the left for Sevilla, twists one way, then the other to beat Dani Carvajal. His low cross to the near is headed behind by a stooping Sergio Ramos. The corner is initially cleared, but a ball over the top finds Franco Vazquez, who controls and hist an angled shot that Keylor Navas has to tip over. Sevilla want to end this unbeaten record of Real's. They mean it.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Sevilla's players were back out first, eager to get on with it. Real Madrid made them wait a moment or two, but they've now joined us as well. So let's see what the next 45 minutes bring.

Can Real Madrid go the whole season unbeaten?

Capital R: With the unpredictable drama that football is, I don't think so. But massive credit if they do go unbeaten this season.

Will Monaco end the night on top of Ligue 1? They're 2-1 up away to Marseille, with former Manchester United and Chelsea loanee Radamel Falcao among the goals. Thomas Lemar opened the scoring for the visitors before Falcao doubled the lead. Rolando has pulled a goal back for the hosts.

Nice, who started the day on top, were held 0-0 at home by Metz earlier.

  13. Valencia ease relegation fearspublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    La Liga round-up

Let's take this opportunity at half-time to look at the rest of today's La Liga results.

Valencia, whose 2016 was arguably even worse than yours, won for the first time since October as they beat Espanyol 2-1.

It was the La Liga strugglers' first home game since the resignation of coach Cesare Prandelli last month, and there were fan protests against owner Peter Lim and president Layhoon Chan before kick-off. Goals from Martin Montoya and Santi Mina lifted the mood.

That has pulled Valencia four points clear of the relegation zone, as Sporting Gijon lost 3-2 at home to Eibar. Fun and games in the battle of the bottom two, meanwhile. Granada, next to bottom, had both Watford loanee Uche Agbo and Ezequiel Ponce sent off at home to Osasuna, and still came out with a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, Nemanja Radoja's late goal gave Celta Vigo a 1-0 win over 10-man Alaves, who had defender Zouhair Feddal sent off.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Fiorentina 1-0 Juventus

Some manful defending by Fiorentina to hold on to their lead at the break. Max Olivera blocks as Juan Cuadrado tries to get on the end of a cross, then is in the way again as Gonzalo Higuain drives the second ball goalwards. Higuain claims handball, but it hits the Fiorentina man on the thigh.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

No more openings of note in the closing moments of the first half at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, though there was a bit of a scramble in the Sevilla box and keeper Sergio Rico only half punched clear a high ball. All to play for. I wonder if Sevilla might find a way to end that long unbeaten Real Madrid run? What do you reckon?

  16. goal

    Nikola Kalinic

Here's something to liven up the title race in Italy: Serie A's leaders are behind. Former Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinic is the scorer, firing across Gianluigi Buffon and into the far corner after benefiting from Federico Bernardeschi's assist.

Can Real Madrid go the whole season unbeaten?

Kailo Mordecai: Real Madrid can go the whole season without a loss because I don't see any team stopping them this season.

Dave, Madrid: What's remarkable about this Real Madrid run is they've been blitzed with injuries during it. Almost every outfield player has had a significant lay-off. Incredible squad depth masks it.

Dave Wood: After tonight, Real Madrid have played Sevilla, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid away from home. Only thing to stop them going unbeaten is their own complacency

  18. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Sevilla 0-0 Real Madrid

Sevilla having most of the possession - but here come Real down the left. Karim Benzema pulls wide, then darts infield, and plays a low ball for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real number seven is only 10 yards from goal, but he is crowded out and sidefoots wide. He thinks he should have done better, though. It's a warning for Jorge Sampaoli's side.

Another smart Sevilla move. Samir Nasri plays a wide pass to Vitolo, receives the return and hits a first-time outswinger that Keylor Navas holds on to. The home side are picking up the pace.
