I don't really know what is a booking any more. Paul Pogba manhandles N'Golo Kante to the deck but that's not deemed a card. Ander Herrera got one in the first half for basically being run into by Eden Hazard.

I am not unhappy with that kind of tackle. Diving in is a problem but Valencia has turned his body and is diving in sideways.

Antonio Valencia dives in with two feet, he doesn't make any great contact with N'Golo Kante but that was certainly wild. Referee Michael Oliver takes no action, but does then book Ashley Young for chopping down Victor Moses. 

The semi-finals draw is due after this game remember. If holders Manchester United are to be in it they need a goal in the last 15 minutes. 

United have made 41 passes since half-time, Chelsea 225. It's a suffocation as Eden Hazard is fouled once again.

Willian then gets past Marcos Rojo but his low cross is beyond Diego Costa! 

As you would expect from a team with a numerical advantage, Chelsea are controlling both possession and territory. 

The Blues have had almost 70% possession, with plenty of that in the Manchester United half - as you can see in their heat map on the left.

The away side's heat map, on the right, is a bit chilly in and around the Chelsea box. United have managed just seven touches of the ball inside the opposition area.

Willian finds space where there is none, spinning on to his right foot and driving in powerfully at the near post but David de Gea punches it clear.

Phil Jones is the latest man to make a last-gasp clearance after a N'Golo Kante cross from the right. Victor Moses then runs into the penalty area and Chris Smalling comes over to clear. One-way traffic. 

Chris Smalling can only find touch like a Six Nations fly-half as the Manchester United defence are swamped with blocks and crosses to deal with.

With a quarter of the game to go they remain in touch though. Down to 10 men they may be, but they are one good counter attack away from an equaliser.

Costa has gone down there as though he has broken his leg. It is an over-reaction. I thought we had seen the last of that from him.

If anyone is wrong in this situation it is Diego Costa. He kicks the ball away when the whistle has gone to stop Manchester United taking the free-kick.

Does football need more emojis? Not a question I imagined posing. N'Golo Kante has been superb as ever tonight. What a pass that is from Willian! Superb over the top but Diego Costa is flagged offside.

Costa then goes to ground after a tangle with Marcos Rojo. That is rather embarrassing from the big Spanish Brazilian. He knew what he was doing there. 

Andri Pratama:  If only Kante has the haircut to go with this performance, he'd have his own emojis now.

What Rashford and United did with that break is keep Chelsea honest. They really need the second goal to seal this game.
