    Jordan Hugill (89 mins)

We have some late EFL drama!

Preston North End have surely rescued a point at home to Ipswich, and it just had to be Jordan Hugill, didn't it?

We reported earlier in the week that the Tractor Boys had a second offer rejected for the North End striker, and now he's grabbed his employers a point against the team trying to sign him.

    Norwich 2-0 Birmingham

Cameron Jerome has spurned two chances to wrap up the points for good.

First his downward header is straight at Tomasz Kuszczak and then moments later the Polish keeper gets across to block another effort.

    Rotherham 0-1 Barnsley

Rotherham have pressed hard for an equaliser against Barnsley, but it's the Tykes who almost get the game's second goal - Marley Watkins' volley looks certain to be going in, but for Richard O'Donnell's fingertip save.

    Reading 2-1 Birmingham

The Royals are closing in on victory.

However, they had a scare just now when Yann Kermorgant sliced a clearance back towards his own goal.

But keeper Ali Al-Habsi was on hand to clear the danger.

There are 10 minutes left at the Madejski Stadium.

A lovely moment at Carrow Road - a minute's applause for Sir John Hurt, a Norwich fan, after the Bafta-winning actor died at the age of 77.

    QPR 1-2 Burton

Brewers keeper Jon McLaughlin denies Conor Washington a second goal - and an equaliser - with a fine save at Loftus Road.

As it stands, QPR's four-match unbeaten league run is coming to an end.

    Preston 0-1 Ipswich

Ipswich Town are just about clinging on at Deepdale, though they certainly have goalkeeper Bartosz Białkowski to thank for that, after he produced an excellent save to deny Aiden McGeady an equaliser.

    More action at Carrow Road.

First Norwich winger Robbie Brady finds Steven Naismith free in the area, but his header is straight at the goalkeeper.

At the other end, Kerim Frei cuts inside and shoots low, but John Ruddy gathers easily.

    QPR 1-2 Burton

QPR keeper Alex Smithies keeps his side in the game by denying Lloyd Dyer with a fine one-handed save.

At the other end Idrissa Sylla, couldn't find enough space in the six yard box to get a shot away after being found by Kazenga LuaLua.

About 18 minutes remain at Loftus Road.

    Adam Armstrong (70 mins)

Barnsley may have been shedding players like nobody's business this week but, in the words of boss Paul Heckingbottom, it's time to make new heroes.

And their hero so far today is Adam Armstrong, whose goal has put them ahead against neighbours Rotherham.

Brighton and Newcastle look well placed to clinch the top two places in the Championship.

According to the BBC's supercomputer SAM, The Magpies will finish first and win automatic promotion alongside the Seagulls.

But do you think Leeds, Reading or Huddersfield surpass the top two and lift the trophy? And who will be relegated to League One?

Scunthorpe's Josh Morris has now scored in four consecutive league games and taken his tally to 19 for the season in the process... However, it's in vain at the moment as Port Vale lead 2-1 thanks to JJ Hooper's goal.

It's a fair bet that there's fury among the Coventry City fans, who have protested with flares and a pitch invasion at Northampton Town, seen their team go down to 10-men and now trail to Keshi Anderson's goal. They're bottom and without a win since October. Disastrous.

Aaron Williams has given the EFL's bottom club Newport a rare moment of joy with a second against Hartlepool in Dave Jones' first game in charge. It would be their first win since November if they can cling on to this 2-0 lead.

    Norwich 2-0 Birmingham

Blues keeper Tomasz Kuszczak makes sure the score remains 2-0 by smothering an effort from Jacob Murphy.

That is the Norwich winger's last action of the afternoon, and he is replaced by his twin brother Josh.

    Conor Washington (63 mins)

Rangers pull one back at Loftus Road and it's the half-time sub Conor Washington who has got it.

The striker rifles home after his initial effort was blocked.

That's the Northern Ireland international's fourth goal of the season, and his first since mid-November.

GOAL: Reading 2-1 Cardiffpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2017

    Yann Kermorgant (60 mins)

Reading have the lead and it's a peach of a free-kick from Yann Kermorgant.

Cardiff defender Sol Bamba went through the Frenchman but managed to avoid picking up a second yellow card.

Kermorgant picked himself up and smashes the ball home from 20 yards out. The Royals are going third in the table as it stands.

Rotherham 0-0 Barnsley, Preston 0-1 Ipswich

A couple of decent chances to tell you about since half-time, as Callum Robinson wastes a terrific opportunity to equalise for Preston, while Danny Ward's effort is turned superbly tipped behind by Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies.

    Action, but no goals.

Norwich still hold a 2-0 lead at Carrow Road but the visitors are coming back into it.

Craig Gardner has had an effort from 30 yards for Birmingham which went narrowly wide of the upright.

Meanwhile, Kerim Frei and Lukas Jutkiewicz have been unable to take advantage of openings in the Royals box.

    Lloyd Dyer (52 mins)

Burton double their lead as Lloyd Dyer is played in on goal after a quick counter-attack and slides the ball past Rangers keeper Alex Smithies.

As it stands, the Brewers are moving up two places to 20th in the Championship - and going three points clear of the relegation zone.

    Reading 1-1 Cardiff

Cardiff have started the second half well, with Reading keeper Ali Al-Habsi forced to stop Junior Hoilett's curling effort.

Then a long throw from Aron Gunnarsson causes a bit of chaos in the Royals box before Al-Habsi mops up the danger.
