  1. Night night, don't let the own-goals bitepublished at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

Lets be frank. The end of that Newcastle-QPR match was the stuff of nightmares for anyone that has anything to do with Newcastle United.

Ciaran Clark is probably not the only Magpie that is not going to sleep easy tonight.

But look on the bright side of life, the next game is never far away.

And, here on the BBC Sports website, you need only look ahead to tomorrow night for our next English Football League live text offering as we bring you Huddersfield v Brighton.

Yep, it's the ONE game that can actually compound Newcastle's misery as the Seagulls can go four points clear at the top of the Championship with victory. Then again, fifth-placed Huddersfield will want a pretty big say in that.

    The drama never ends!

    Until then, goodnight.

FT: Newcastle United 2-2 Queens Park Rangers

Ciaran Clark was certainly in the wars against QPR. He copped a nasty gash on his head in the first-half, then badly as you like concedes an own-goal in the last minute of normal time, which means Newcastle miss out on top spot.

  5. How things standpublished at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

A costly late own goal from Ciaran Clark means Newcastle remain second, with Brighton and Hove Albion continuing to lead the way at the top of the Championship. The Magpies, however, cut their advantage back to a single point.

The nights' big movers in the Championship are Fulham, moving up to ninth - within two places and three points of the play-off spots - after beating relegation threatened Burton.

Leeds remain fourth in the table, but are now just a point behind Reading in third after getting the better of second-from-bottom Blackburn.

It's full-time at Ewood Park and that's a really fine win for Leeds, strengthening their position in the Championship play-off places.

  9. Postpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-2 QPR

Alex Smithies with a strong save, keeping Yoan Gouffran out from a tight angle.

Just as importantly, the follow up is cleared by Jake Bidwell as Mohamed Diame looked poised to pounce from close range.

Drama this, right at the END.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Burton 0-2 Fulham

One place it is most definitely done and dusted is at the Pirelli, where Fulham have secured a fine 2-0 victory over Burton.

  11. goal

GOAL: Newcastle 2-2 QPRpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Ciaran Clark (OG)

Oh, one must fear that Newcastle have just conceded top spot in the Championship in the last minute.

A whole long went wrong for Ciaran Clark to head into his own net. Poor communication with Karl Darlow seems to be about the worst of it, as there was no real danger as Clark jumped to meet a cross from Kazenga LuaLua.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-1 QPR

Matt Richie gets the timings of his tackle all wrong and Massimo Luongo is sent flying. Legs went everywhere. Nothing vicious, just poor.

  13. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 1-2 Leedspublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Pontus Jansson

We've done goal crazy at Ewood Park!

This one's a thumping, towering header from Pontus Jansson, arriving at the far post at a corner and firing the 6,402 Leeds fans behind the goal into delirium.

Is that one done and dusted this time?

  14. Postpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-1 QPR

And as quickly as a can write the words saying Ayoze Perez has played some bad passes, he quickly shows his quality.

The ball into the area looks much more difficult, but he bends a low cross in dangerously. It just needed a foot to meet it at the end. Great thinking.

And that proves to be his last involvement in the game as Mohamed Diame replaces Perez with five minutes remaining.

  15. Postpublished at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle United 2-1 QPR

Ayoze Perez has been a bright spark for Newcastle tonight, but he has made some really poor calls.

Again, he runs into space, is free on the left of the area...

A few minutes earlier, he didn't choose the pass and this time he comes up with a badly over-hit cross. A ball, cut back on the turf would have created mayhem for a scrambling QPR defence!

  16. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 1-1 Leedspublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Elliott Bennett

It's game on again at Ewood Park, but this goal is not quite as eye-catching as Stuart Dallas' a few moments ago.

Elliott Bennett picks the ball up 20 yards out and sends a rather hopeful, bobbling shot towards the right-hand corner - but the goalkeeper is wrong footed and Blackburn are level.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-1 QPR

And we have a second QPR debut for the night, as recent arrival from Manchester United Sean Goss comes on for Darnell Furlong.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-1 QPR

Alex Smithies AGAIN with a brilliant stop! The QPR goalkeeper is keeping his side right in this game, when in the last few minutes Newcastle could have been out of sight.

It must be said that Ayoze Perez made a dreadful decision there, taking the shot from the left of the box when Matt Richie was screaming out for the ball to be played square to him in the centre of the area!

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Newcastle 2-1 QPR

QPR with their second change, and it is a familiar face for the Newcastle locals as Kazenga LuaLua is on for Jamie Mackie.

  20. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 0-1 Leedspublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Stuart Dallas

Blackburn v LeedsImage source, Rex Features

    Deadlock broken!

It's a really, really fine goal too, well worth waiting for. Stuart Dallas is the man with it for Leeds, chesting a long, diagonal pass down inside the area and drilling a low shot across goal and into the corner.

    The promotion hopefuls are ahead.
