Brighton are back on top of the Championship, as the Seagulls marked Chris Hughton's 100th league match in charge with a 2-0 win at Barnsley.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield, Millwall and Oxford did the EFL proud in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Huddersfield held Manchester City to a goalless draw, Oxford were denied a replay by a late Middlesbrough goal, and Millwall knocked out the Premier League champions Leicester.

Championship club Wolves caused one of the biggest FA Cup upsets of the season when they won at Liverpool in round four.

Newcastle spent big and it worked - they're in a strong position to go up automatically, although they're down to second spot after Brighton's victory today.

Aston Villa spent even bigger and it didn't - they're in danger of being dragged right into a relegation battle.

Disaster for League Two's bottom two sides late on, with Newport collapsing from 2-0 up to a 3-2 defeat at Cambridge, and Notts County scoring a late winner at 23rd-placed Leyton Orient.

Barnet were unable to hold on to their 1-0 lead against Portsmouth in Kevin Nugent's first game in charge, Conor Chaplin scoring Pompey's equaliser late on.

Leaders Doncaster draw 1-1 with fourth-placed Luton, and it's the same score for second-placed Plymouth at Hartlepool.

That allows Carlisle to close the gap to the Pilgrims to just three points, as they win 2-1 at play-off chasing Wycombe.

A point apiece in the meeting of first against second in League One, with Sheffield United unable to find a winner against 10-man Scunthorpe.

Bottom side Coventry hang on for their first league win since 1 November, beating Gillingham 2-1, while a mistake from Chesterfield keeper Thorsten Stuckmann allows George Miller to score a late winner for Bury in Lee Clark's first game in charge.

Bradford conceded a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw with fellow promotion hopefuls Bolton, but the best entertainment came at Spotland, where Rochdale and Charlton play out a 3-3 draw.

• Brighton & Hove Albion return to the top of the Championship table, winning 2-0 at Barnsley thanks to Sam Baldock's second-half double.
• Norwich City's six-game unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 loss at struggling Burton Albion, whose winning goal was struck by Michael Kightly.
• Cardiff City continued their superb run of form with a thumping 5-0 victory over bottom club Rotherham United, Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock's former side.
• Play-off hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday opened a seven-point gap on seventh place with a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest, but Leeds United could only draw 1-1 at Ipswich Town.
• Gianfranco Zola's Birmingham City were beaten 4-1 at home by Queens Park Rangers, while Wigan Athletic and Preston North End played out a goalless draw at the DW Stadium.

We're still waiting on a final whistle at St Andrew's, where Emilio Nsue has got a consolation goal for Birmingham against QPR, but it's all over in the rest of our Championship games.

League One Millwall are into the last eight! With 10 men, they've beaten Premier League champions Leicester 1-0 with a late goal from Shaun Cummings at The Den.

The top two in League Two haven't found it easy today, but both sides are level as they enter the closing stages.

Matty Kennedy has scored to put second-placed Plymouth back on terms at Hartlepool, while Doncaster's Alfie May makes it 1-1 against fourth-placed Luton.

Meanwhile, Kevin Nugent's first game as Barnet boss could be set to end in victory, as Mauro Vilhete has made it 1-0 late on against play-off hopefuls Portsmouth.

Struggling Leyton Orient have scored again as well, Teddy Mezague making it 2-2 at home to Notts County.

My goodness me, 10-man Scunthorpe almost had a winner at Sheffield United!

But Paddy Madden's effort struck the post.

Better news too for Bury manager Lee Clark in his first game in charge, with opponents Chesterfield having a man sent off before Andrew Tutte fires in for the Shakers from 30 yards out to make it 1-1.
