Morecambe opened the scoring in the EFL this afternoon after just three minutes at Crawley, and it took them only four more to go 2-0 up through Paul Mullin's shot.

Third-placed Carlisle fell behind at Wycombe when the man they call The Beast, Adebayo Akinfenwa, headed in for Wanderers, but Jamie Proctor has equalised from the edge of the box.

Elsewhere, Crewe are a goal down at Blackpool, with Nathan Delfouneso getting the opener for the hosts.

That's three more league games than any other player in the Championship. The big New Zealand international has been in top-notch form for his club all season.

    Phil ParkinsonImage source, Rex Features

Rochdale's play-off hopes have taken a bit of a beating of late, as they had not scored in their past five games in all competitions.

It's taken them just four minutes to get off the mark today against Charlton, as Niall Canavan has smashed in from close range after an error from Addicks keeper Declan Rudd.

Elsewhere, Bolton boss Phil Parkinson's return to former club Bradford is not off to the best start, as Charlie Wyke has given the Bantams an early lead.

Barnsley have had big appeals for a penalty turned down at Oakwell. The Tykes think Brighton defender Lewis Dunk handled inside the box, but the referee gives nothing.

It's taken a wee while for our seven Championship matches to come to life, but we have some games on now.

    Burton 0-0 Norwich

Burton have gone close to an opening goal against in-form Norwich, but midfielder Jackson Irvine has been denied by full-back Steven Whittaker's intervention.

Elsewhere, Jamie Ward has hit the crossbar for Nottingham Forest against Sheffield Wednesday.

  10. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Barnsley 0-0 Brighton

A pretty quiet start in the Championship - no goals in any of our seven games.

But there's an early yellow card for Brighton striker Sam Baldock at Barnsley, given for diving inside the penalty area.

A win at Oakwell will take the Seagulls top of the table.

As teams across England prepare for their respective kick-offs, just time to tell you that two clubs have new managers in place for their matches today.

Lee Clark swapped Scotland's top-flight for England's third tier when he took charge of Bury earlier this week. The Shakers are away at Chesterfield today.

Meanwhile, Barnet's new boss Kevin Nugent will watch his new side host Portsmouth in League Two.

Don't forget, we're asking for your highest-scoring games via #bbcefl on Twitter this afternoon, after the EFL goalfest we all enjoyed on Tuesday.

We can't help but feel Mark has bent the rules a little bit with his 21-goal claim...

Mark: Charlton 4-4 Sunderland, 7-6 on pens, including the pens that's 21 goals.

James Levy: Went to Madrid for a stag weekend, we went to Real Madrid v Getafe. Finished 7-3.

  16. Cardiff on the charge?published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Cardiff v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Wales Sport at the Cardiff City Stadium

You could call Cardiff v Rotherham the 'Neil Warnock Classic' but, given the fact the Yorkshireman seems to have managed at least half the clubs in the Championship, it may not be that remarkable to see his current side take on his former charges.

Cardiff have been transformed under Warnock, who took over in October with the team second from bottom.

Now they're 12th in the table, as close to the play-offs as they are the relegation zone. Is it too late for the Bluebirds to mount a late bid for promotion?

  17. Another flying start from Norwich?published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Burton v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Wes HoolahanImage source, Rex Features

Norwich have found the net inside 15 minutes in each of their past two Championship matches, and they were 3-0 in front after 18 minutes against Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

Saying that, they were 1-0 down to Newcastle after 23 seconds on Tuesday, so when it comes to early goals, anything can happen.

  18. Survival brewing for Brewers?published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Burton v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

Burton have been going through a lean time of it of late, winning three and losing nine of their past 12 Championship matches.

That run of form has seen them drop to within two points of the relegation zone. Can they survive against the odds?

More goals from Michael Kightly will help - he's scored in both of his first two appearances for Burton since joining on loan from Burnley.

  19. Canaries chasing down top sixpublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Burton v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

Do you remember when Norwich City had lost eight out of 10 league games and manager Alex Neil was under real pressure?

Well, after the doom and gloom in December, things are suddenly looking a lot brighter at Carrow Road.

    Jacob MurphyImage source, PA

The Canaries are unbeaten in six Championship matches and looking the most likely of the clubs just outside the top six to break into the play-off spots.

Norwich start today four points behind sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday, having played a game more.

  20. Aerial threatpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2017

    Barnsley v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

It would be extremely unfair to describe Barnsley as a long-ball team or anything like that. They're far from it.

However, their use of two out-and-out wingers and the team's aerial threat has been fairly evident throughout the season...

    Tom BradshawImage source, Rex Features

That's the highest number of headed goals by any Championship club this term.
