    Blackburn 0-0 Man Utd

Blackburn may be having a miserable time of it in the Championship this season but they've produced a couple of impressive results, beating Newcastle United home and away. On both occasions they frustrated their opponents for much of the game by sitting deep and then pinching a late goal. Expect them to do the same today.

I remember watching David Bentley hit a ball from the top of a roof into a skip a few years back. Excellent precision.

What's he up to these days?

  4. 'Spurs dominated the game'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2017

    Fulham 0-3 Tottenham

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic: "They showed great respect to us, they chose a very strong team and they didn't want any risks. They didn't give us so many chances in the game.

"They gave us no space to move the ball, this is different to what we normally find in our competition. When they scored we didn't have enough energy to change our situation.

"They dominated all of the game, they had it under control and put us in a difficulty we are not used to.

"Now we have to concentrate on the games in front of us. We must be optimists and fight for the top six."

    Football Focus

Blackburn boss Owen Coyle told Football Focus: "I've always been a lover of the FA Cup as a player, coach and manager - it's the best cup competition in the world.

"We are all disappointed with our position in the table but we know we are good enough to climb up the league and our destiny is still in our hands.

"The important thing is for stability this season and get safe and then there has to be some investment to get them back where they have been before.

"Cup football shows that shocks can happen, we have to be outstanding, but shocks have happened before."

Blackburn v Man Utd (16:15 GMT)

It's a pretty murky day in Lancashire as the two teams walk out onto the pitch. The clouds are low over Ewood Park while a steady drizzle throughout the day makes for a wet pitch. The crowd is in good voice, although it's far from a sell out with plenty of empty seats visible.

  7. 'Not an easy game'published at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2017

Blackburn v Man Utd (16:15 GMT)

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: "We have an important team on the pitch with important players but it will be difficult.

"The opponent will fight hard and traditionally it was never easy for Manchester United to play at Blackburn. We are not expecting an easy match."

It's not that long ago that Blackburn Rovers had several exciting players on their books - the likes of Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede in attack and Josh King on the wing.

Their team today's reminds of me when I start a game of Football Manager with a lower league side and scour the transfer market for names I recognise who are free but pushing the wrong side of 30.

A 36-year-old Gordon Greer against Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be interesting...

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "I am very pleased, we started the game with great urgency. We tried to show that we wanted to go to the next round. I am very happy after two defeats.

"We had to recover the right feeling after two defeats. We had to believe in the way we work and play and that is what is important. We had lost that a little bit.

"It is always important for the striker to feel the net. We are a collective, there can be different names but we must compete."

Wayne Rooney is almost certain to remain at Manchester United for the rest of the season.

Rooney, 31, has attracted interest from Chinese Super League clubs, who are willing to pay huge sums to sign the England captain.

With the Chinese transfer window not due to close until 28 February, it was suggested Rooney could move, with further reports emerging to that effect this weekend.

However, with his club still in four competitions and facing a fixture backlog at the end of the season, United manager Jose Mourinho is not keen to lose any more players from his squad having opted not to sign anyone in January.

It would take something extraordinary for Mourinho to sanction a move now, with the United boss' previous statement in January that Rooney would stay at the club thought to rule out potential transfers to China, in addition to clubs in England.

It's been a straightforward Sunday after a day of shocks yesterday. Can Blackburn deliver?

A touch over two decades ago, Rovers were the champions of England, pipping Manchester United to the Premier League title.

Zip forward to today and the two clubs are worlds apart. Manchester United are one of the richest clubs in the world and battling for a top-four finish while Blackburn are in real danger of being relegated to League One.

It's been a tough few years for Rovers but maybe, just maybe, the chance to get one over their old rivals might just give the fans a moment to forget their recent troubles?

With this game sandwiched between Europa League fixtures, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho makes seven changes to the side that beat St Etienne 3-0 on Thursday.

Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Michael Carrick, Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford all start. David de Gea is once again absent so Sergio Romero continues in goal. The injured Wayne Rooney misses out.

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Tottenham were absolutely fantastic, they have been top drawer. When you pick Harry Kane and Dele Alli, it shows there will be no excuses. They have done everything asked of them. It was a statement saying Spurs are taking this seriously.

Kane can elevate Tottenham to another level on his own. The way the team shifted the ball and their movement off the ball has been fantastic to watch.

Fulham will be disappointed by their performance. Manager Slavisa Jokanovic has not got the balance right with his team,.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane: "We played very well and probably should have had a few more goals. I thought the manager was going to take me off soon but fortunately I was able to sneak the third one in.

"I am fine. It was only a clash of knees, I want to play every game.

"Winning games gives you confidence so we are buzzing to go at Wembley on Thursday."
