Chris McLaughlin

"Stunning game here in the fair city and what a fightback from the home side. The visitors started like they might simply sweep Saints aside, but Tommy Wright's side didn't panic after conceding early, held their nerve and took their chances.
"Foster has kept Tierney quiet on Celtic's left, although Mackay-Steven has been wasteful with chances. The home side have been clinical when it's counted though and, at the break, Brendan Rodgers' side are staring down the barrel of their first domestic defeat."

Quote MessageCeltic need the instinct of a main striker and have got to get Moussa Dembele on at half-time

Quote MessageSt Johnstone have turned it round completely. You feared for them when Celtic got the goal, but the use of the ball by Celtic has not been great, St Johnstone grew into the game and Tommy Wright's tactic of putting Richard Foster on Kieran Tierney has worked a treat

Saints survive that bit of pressure to take the lead into the half-time break. Could we be about to witness the end of Celtic's long domestic unbeaten run - and their long winning run too?
St Johnstone 2-1 Celtic
Saints are holding on - and Zander Clark does just that as the goalkeeper confidently holds a curling Liam Henderson free-kick.
St Johnstone 2-1 Celtic
Celtic look to bounce back immediately and Patrick Roberts fine half-volley forces a good save from goalkeeper Zander Clark.
Dedryck Boyata (own goal)
Dedryck Boyata, having scored the winner against Saints in their last meeting, finds the net again - unfortunately for the Belgian in his own net this time.
Danny Swanson's cross is inches from David Wotherspoon's head, but it hits marker Boyata and leaves goalkeeper Craig Gordon with no chance.

Chris McLaughlin
BBC Sport Scotland at McDiarmid Park
"This experienced St Johnstone side have shown time and time again they fear nothing or no-one. Heads could have gone down after conceding early, but they have kept their shape and more importantly their belief. They deserve to be level."
St Johnstone 1-1 Celtic
A couple of firsts for today's goalscorers. It was Liam Henderson's first since scoring for Hibernian in the Premiership play-off semi-final in May against Falkirk and his first for Celtic since January 2015.
Saints defender Keith Watson had not found the net since September 2014, when he was with Dundee United.

St Johnstone 1-1 Celtic
Richard Foster curls a fine cross into the Celtic penalty box and David Wotherspoon rises above his marker and sends a header a couple of feet wide of the far post.

Quote MessageI think Celtic have had the better opportunities, but Tommy Wright has made that little change, bringing Murray Davidson back into midfield, and St Johnstone have come back into the game
