    St Johnstone v Celtic (12:30)

"Both sides mixing things up for this one. Steven Anderson is ill and Tommy Wright is pushing Richard Foster into midfield. Celtic bring in Henderson and Mackay-Steven to their midfield. Brendan Rodgers says St Johnstone are 'a group of men not easily beaten'. The pitch looks decent and the pipe band are in full swing. Should be a good one here in Perth."

  2. Saints not easily beaten - Rodgerspublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

    St Johnstone v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Radio Scotland: "Just keeping it fresh, keeping the energy in the team.

"We've got good players to come in. Gary [Mackay-Steven] has been training well. He can come in and add that direct running in behind. Liam Henderson is a player that impresses me.

"He [Moussa Dembele] has trained well. Really good news [that he has returned to the squad].

"They [St Johnstone] are a bunch of men. They're not easily beaten. It's a tough game. We're going to have to be patient today."

  3. Wright seeks clinical Saintspublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright on BBC Radio Scotland: "More of the same in the way we make it difficult for Celtic.

"We have to do better with keeping the ball after winning it back.

"A similar type of performance and a bit more clinical and hopefully that will be enough to get us a result.

"We want to come of it with something. Celtic have better players than us, so we have got to make sure we have a game plan and at home we can be a little more attack-minded.

"If we perform well, we can make it extremely difficult for Celtic."

    Premiership round-up

Aberdeen moved into second in the Scottish Premiership on goal difference above Rangers with the Dons beating Partick Thistle and Mark Warburton's side drawing at home to Ross County.

Those results mean Celtic can go 27 points clear at the top if they win today.

Hearts made it back-to-back wins with a 3-0 triumph over 10-man Motherwell.

St Johnstone therefore need to win today to draw level on points with fourth-placed Hearts.

Elsewhere, there were draws between Hamilton and Kilmarnock and between Inverness and Dundee.

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has made four changes, with central defender Steven Anderson dropping out the squad completely with tonsillitis.

Tam Scobbie comes into the heart of defence, with Keith Watson starting at right-back and David Wotherspoon and battling Paul Paton coming into midfield.

Chris Millar, Liam Craig and influential striker Steven MacLean drop to the bench.

  7. Saints chasing Heartspublished at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

While Brendan Rodgers' side are 24 points clear at the Premiership summit, Saints are bidding to keep pace with fourth-placed Hearts, who are fifth, three points behind Hearts.

  8. Hope for Saints?published at 12:05 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

Before Celtic's 1-0 win over St Johnstone last month, the sides met at McDiarmid Park in August and it ended 4-2 in the champions' favour.

However, St Johnstone are the last team to beat Celtic in domestic football, with a 2-1 in Perth last May.

  9. Mackay-Steven given Celtic startpublished at 11:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

As you can see from Celtic's tweet, Erik Sviatchenko comes into central defence in place of Jozo Simunovic, with Liam Henderson and Gary Mackay-Steven given rare starts in midfield in place of Callum McGregor and James Forrest.

Striker Moussa Dembele, linked with Chelsea ahead of the January transfer deadline, only makes the bench after his return from injury, but Stuart Armstrong and Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic are still missing as they continue their recovery.

And there is still no sign of January signing Eboue Kouassi.

  11. Records continue to tumblepublished at 11:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2017

Celtic's 1-0 midweek win over Aberdeen, who moved into second place yesterday, stretched their unbeaten domestic run to 28 games - and was their 22nd straight domestic victory.

St Johnstone played their part in that piece of history, with their 1-0 defeat at Celtic Park on 25 January meaning that Brendan Rodgers' side had equalled the Lisbon Lions' previous record of 26 domestic games unbeaten from the start of a season.

Of course, they have since gone on to surpass the mark set by the side who famously lifted the European Cup that season to become the first British side to do so.
