Such was the force of the tackle that Danilo cannot continue, he is taken off on a stretcher.

On comes the forgotten man James Rodriguez.

Danilo is a right-back, will the Colombian play there?? Surely not.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is prowling the touchline after seeing Danilo go down under a challenge from David Garcia.

It is a naughty challenge from the Osasuna man, right on the ankle of the Brazilian.

The Karim Benzema-Cristiano Ronaldo link-up in operation again.

This time the Frenchman's pass through has a bit too much gas on it as Salvatore Sirigu comes sprinting off his line to collect the ball before the Portuguese man can get there.

Monaco have extended their Ligue 1 title lead in style this evening, beating Metz 5-0 to go three points clear of Paris St-Germain.

It was a great night for 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe, who scored his first Ligue 1 hat-trick, with Radamel Falcao getting the other two.

At the bottom of the table, it was a good night for Angers, who won 2-1 at Lille; a bad night, though, for their relegation rivals Bastia, who had two men sent off as they were thumped 4-1 at Toulouse. Prince Oniangue, on loan from Wolves, scored the Bastia goal.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 48 mins

    Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid

Osasuna goalscorer Sergio Leon is sniffing another and oh, so nearly gets it.

He cuts inside on the right before curling a left-footed strike towards the far post, but Keylor Navas flies across to push the ball away.

Real Madrid are a mess at the back.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid

Top spot is up for grabs but Real Madrid are failing to capitalise so far. Can they take charge in the second half?

Let's find out. Back under way.

Sky Sports are reporting that Osasuna defender Tano broke his tibia and fibula in that first half. A very nasty injury.

He'll be out for a while.

    Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid

Former Barcelona defender Frank de Boer on Sky Sports: "You can see Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have played a lot of times together, it is fantastic to see. Ronaldo knows exactly what his team-mate is going to do.

"I don't know what kind of system Real are playing though. Marcelo is usually a left-back but he is playing in midfield and if you play 3-5-2, then the Brazilian will always defend on the left flank.

"Nacho has had a lot of problems because he has had to come wide, that is very poor."

    Fewest wins, fewest points.

Most goals conceded, most defeats at home.

But Osasuna are holding title-chasing Real Madrid at El Sadar.

Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane needs to give a stirring team-talk at the interval to rouse his troops.

Real Madrid thought they may have it easy, yet it has been anything but.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 44 mins

    Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid

Osasuna to take the lead??? Almost.

Sergio Ramos's clearing header from Jaime Romero's free-kick is poor and falls in the box for Emmanuel Riviere.

The Frenchman takes a first-time snapshot with his left foot, but again, Keylor Navas does very well to get down and hold the ball in his hands.

The goalkeeper will have seen that late, so it has to go down as a great save.

Again, Karim Benzema is unselfish and plays the ball to his team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, but the shot from the world's best player is scuffed wide.

Osasuna's Fausto Tienza gets a yellow card for bringing down Sergio Ramos.

The home side really getting stuck in on their opponents.

  16. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Osasuna 1-1 Real Madrid

Chances at both ends in quick succession.

Osasuna midfielder Fausto Tienza tries his luck from the halfway line with an ambitious effort. You have to say, it is a decent effort as Keylor Navas has to scramble back to catch the ball on the line.

At the other end, roles are reversed as Karim Benzema is found by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Frenchman lets it run across his body in the six yard box...MUST SCORE??

No. What a save from Salvatore Sirigu, who dives from one end of his goal to the other to push the ball to safety.

The Italian makes up for his mistake for the goal.

    Sergio Leon (32 mins)

    Beautiful, beautiful finish.

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos are all over the place and Sergio Leon makes them pay.

The Osasuna man is released through on goal by Juan Fuentes' pass and the summer signing bides his time, keeps his composure, waits for Keylor Navas to commit before dinking the ball into the net.

Gorgeous stuff and Real Madrid have been pegged back.

    Osasuna 0-1 Real Madrid

Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are on a different level.

Again the Frenchman releases his team-mate, but Osasuna defender Goran Causic does well on this occasion to slide and clear the ball.

  19. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Osasuna 0-1 Real Madrid

Eccentric goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu sprints 30+ yards off his line to clear a through ball.

If he got that one wrong, Cristiano Ronaldo had a free run in on goal.

I guess it's good goalkeeping then.

Cristiano Ronaldo is not the only forward on form tonight. Kylian Mbappe, the teenager who Arsenal have been keeping an eye on, has completed his first senior hat-trick as Monaco lead Metz 5-0. Radamel Falcao has got his second of the game too. Monaco won 7-0 at Metz in October. What chance a repeat?
