    Osasuna 0-1 Real Madrid

"He's not that type of player."

Luka Modric goes into the referee's book for a failing arm on Alex Berenguer.

It was accidental, but Alex made the most of it.

    One shot, one goal. Boom.

Real Madrid's front men link up for the first time to give their side the lead.

Karim Benzema plays a brilliant ball through to Cristiano Ronaldo, slicing the Osasuna defence with ease.

Ronaldo takes the ball in his stride and strikes a low, hard shot, which comes of Salvatore Sirigu and into the net.

To be honest, the on-loan PSG goalkeeper should be saving that. He has had nothing to do all game and was caught when given work to do. Poor.

  3. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Osasuna winger Jaime Romero is giving Nacho a torrid time on the right.

He skips past his opponent but draws a foul from the Real Madrid man.

It is in a promising position, but Jamie wastes the set piece, blazing it over the crossbar.

  4. GOOD SAVE!published at 18 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Assured handling from Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas so far in this game.

Fausto Tienza sees a ball rolled to him 30 yards out and he winds up a strike which takes a nick off a Real Madrid man.

It is sneaking into the bottom corner, but Navas does well to get down and snatch it.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

How will that injury affect the home side after a decent start?

It's David Garcia who comes on for Tano.

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

    This looks horrific.

Osasuna defender Tano is writhing in pain on the ground after an accidental collision with Isco.

The ball was there to be won but it looks like a broken leg.

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo has his head in his hands, he can barely look.

    Very nasty.

Tano has been carried off on a stretcher.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 11 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Home defender Juan Fuentes is the first man into the referee's book for a late challenge on Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Ballon D'Or holder was not going anywhere, so it's a silly foul and now he is walking a tightrope for the remainder of the game.

  8. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Osasuna don't have the look of a team who are bottom of the table and have started confidently.

Jamie Romero stands up Real Madrid defender Nacho in the box before outpacing him on the outside.

Jamie's cross is low towards on-loan Newcastle man Emmanuel Riviere at the front post, but the Frenchman's flicked shot goes wide.

  9. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

There's a lush, new turf at El Sadar and Cristiano Ronaldo has not worked out how to use it yet.

It's same as everywhere else, Cristiano.

The Portuguese slips over as he tries to collect a Karim Benzema pass. Ronaldo nods approvingly and gives a double thumbs up to his team-mate.

  10. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid go to the other end and force a corner which Osasuna fail to clear.

The ball drops on the edge of the box for Karim Benzema, but the Frenchman's left-footed shot drifts just wide of goal.

  11. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

Surprisingly, it is Osasuna who launch the first attack of the game, but Alex Berenguer's low, skiddy cross from the left is smothered well by Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican cannot afford to put a foot wrong, with rumours circulating that the club are after a new number one.

Manchester United's David de Gea, if they can get the fax machine to work, and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois have been mooted.

  12. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Osasuna 0-0 Real Madrid

46 goals conceded in 21 La Liga games by Osasuna - more than any other side in the division.

Cristiano Ronaldo and co will fancy their chances this evening.

There are five games in Ligue 1 this evening - most of them affecting the foot of the table - but leaders Monaco are in action, and are already in control against 12th-placed Metz in a 19:00 GMT kick-off, leading 3-0.

Kylian Mbappe swept in the opener after a header down from Radamel Falcao - and the former Manchester United and Chelsea loanee scored the second himself, turning in a cross at the near post. Mbappe then beat the offside trap and cut in from the left to make it three.

Earlier today, fourth-placed Lyon were beaten 2-1 at Guingamp.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both scored as Barcelona moved top of La Liga by thrashing Alaves.

Suarez turned in the opener for the visitors from Aleix Vidal's drilled cross, before Neymar tapped in the second from close range.

Barca turned on the style in the second half with four goals in the space of nine minutes, as Messi stroked in the third before Alexis' own goal.

Ivan Rakitic smashed home from inside the area and Suarez added the sixth.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane says he expects Gareth Bale to return to action within a month.

It means Bale would be fit for Wales' World Cup qualifier with the Republic of Ireland on 24 March.

The 27-year-old forward has been out since November after having surgery to repair ankle tendon damage suffered during a Champions League tie against Sporting.

"He's fine. He's working very well and looks determined," Zidane said.

Osasuna. One victory in 21 La Liga games this season. Bottom of the table.

Real Madrid. One defeat in 19 La Liga games this season. Victory puts them top.

It will be the biggest shock of the campaign should the home side get anything out of this game.
