It was a dramatic night in Spain, as Atletico Madrid reignited their Champions League qualification bid - despite yet another penalty miss. And what a goal from Fernando Torres too.

More straightforward in Sardinia, but Juventus are starting to look unstoppable in Serie A.

Thanks for your company this evening. Goodnight.

And here's the top of La Liga, which is probably the most interesting of Europe's 'big four' title races right now - although what you see there may well be the order in which the top six finish in Spain.

Diana Ross missing that open goal during the opening ceremony at the 1994 World Cup as well. Now that was a miss. Seriously, if you've never seen it, track it down online somewhere. It's astonishing.

Hellworld99: Don't forget Daniel Agger's miss vs Fulham as well.

You know something? I should have gone for the greatest misses of all time as the Get Involved talking point tonight, shouldn't I? Ah well, you live, you learn, as Alanis Morissette once said.

  6. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2017

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

All over as well in Sardinia, where there was a superb late save from Cagliari keeper Rafael to deny Paulo Dybala at point-blank range after a shot had crashed against the bar. No stopping Juventus on the night, though; they are seven points clear at the top of Serie A. Five league wins in a row, no goals conceded. Impressive stuff.

    Atletico Madrid 3-2 Celta Vigo

Not that it matters, because the game is won. Atletico are up above Real Sociedad and into the fourth Champions League spot. Their manager Diego Simeone was dancing up the touchline in the closing minutes, whipping up the home fans. Remember with about 20 minutes to go, when I suggested that the second half had gone a bit quiet? What did I know?

  8. HITS THE BARpublished at 90+2 mins

    Atletico Madrid 3-2 Celta Vigo

Not to mention time for Atletico to hit the bar. Kevin Gameiro, with the whole of the goal to aim at as the ball is played across to him, hits the underside of the bar from about three yards. It's not quite Ronnie Rosenthal at Villa Park all those years ago, or Fernando Torres at Old Trafford more recently, but it is a shocker.

Dave Wood: Think you can add Yannick Carrasco to your goal of the season contenders.

There are still three minutes of stoppage time for Celta Vigo to find an equaliser yet.

    Antoine Griezmann (88 mins)

There is! Antoine Griezmann, who has had a very ordinary evening, shows just why he is among the most sought-after strikers in Europe, getting into the right place to convert substitute Kevin Gameiro's knock down and sidefoot home from seven yards. A simple finish, but it's all about being in the right place at the right time.

    Yannick Carrasco (86 mins)

Celta Vigo defending manfully as they try to hold their lead - but they can't manage it! There are a couple of goalmouth flurries, before the ball drops for Yannick Carrasco to hit a sweet dipping volley in the corner past a static goalkeeper. Is there time for a winner?

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

A couple of changes to bring you up to date with. Victor Ibarbo, once briefly of Watford, came on for Cagliari in place for Marco Boriello a few moments ago, and he is now joined by former Juventus man Simone Padoin, on for Fabio Pisacane.

    John Guidetti (78 mins)

It's been quite a weekend around Europe for players with Manchester City connections: Edin Dzeko scored one and missed a penalty for Roma, Joe Hart was involved in an eight-goal thriller with Torino, and now John Guidetti has swept in Daniel Wass's cut-back with a lovely 20-yard shot stroked into the bottom corner, and Celta Vigo lead in Madrid once more.

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

Mind you, Juve are no slouches on the counter-attack. They break out from the resulting Cagliari corner, and Mario Mandzukic is inches away from heading in a left-wing cross as he sprints to the other end - but his effort glances wide.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 72 mins

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

And so the point is proved. A long Cagliari throw is headed out as far as full-back Fabio Pisacane, whose sweetly struck first-timer swerves away from Gianluigi Buffon, who does brilliantly to fly full-length to his left and turn it round the post.

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

Our Serie A game is running about three minutes behind the La Liga match. Juventus just have to guard against complacency here. Yes, they are 2-0 up against 10 men, but one or two sloppy passes at the back have almost got them into trouble in the last couple of minutes, and Cagliari are still prepared to press them.

    Atletico Madrid 1-1 Celta Vigo

Now what usually happens, when I do live text commentaries, is that I write about how not much is happening in a game, and then all hell breaks loose. So let's see if it works here, because it's been a very quiet second half in Madrid. Twenty minutes left there.

  19. RED CARD - Nicolo Barellapublished at 67 mins

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

Ah, what a shame. Nicolo Barella, Cagliari's best player tonight, catches Miralem Pjanic, who has just come on for Claudio Marchisio. Barella, already booked, gets a second yellow and has to go.

  20. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Cagliari 0-2 Juventus

Still the home side press. Barella, unsurprisingly, is at the centre of their latest attack, playing a short pass square for Mauricio Isla to let fly at goal from 25 yards, but the former Juve and QPR man's shot clears the bar, and there is no moment of glory against his former club. Still time, though.
