  2. Mid-table battle at Portman Roadpublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Ipswich v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

    JotaImage source, Rex Features

Two sides looking to cement their Championship status sooner rather than later meet in Suffolk.

Ipswich, 16th on 42 points, host a Brentford side who are three places and one point above them.

The Tractor Boys are unbeaten in five but have won just one of their last eight league games.

Brentford are looking for a third successive win and forward Jota is in fine form, with five goals in his last five games - including a hat-trick against Rotherham last time out.

  3. Fulham and Preston eye top sixpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Fulham v Preston (15:00 GMT)

Fulham are the closest challengers to the final play-off place, sitting five points off sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

The west London side have won four of their last six and their captain Tom Cairney was rewarded for his fine campaign by picking up the EFL player of the year gong at the London Football Awards this week.

Cairney has scored seven goals and set up a further nine this season, and will need to continue that form if the Whites are to make the top six.

Today's visitors to Craven Cottage will provide a stern test.

Preston have lost just one of their last 11 league games and are one point behind Fulham.

The Lilywhites certainly have their own aspirations of catching the Owls, with three wins in their last four.

  4. Play-off hopes fading for Rams and Tykespublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Derby v Barnsley (15:00 GMT)

    Steve McClarenImage source, Rex Features

Two sides looking to breath new life into their play-off bids meet at Pride Park.

Four defeats in a six-match winless streak has left Derby County's promotion hopes hanging by a thread.

The Rams are 11th, 10 points off the top six, with today's opponents Barnsley a place higher and two points better off.

The Tykes haven't been in sparkling form recently either, with one win in their last six.

Don't think this one will be settled early though - Paul Heckingbottom's visitors have scored 17 times in the final 15 minutes of Championship games this season.

  5. Relegation worries for Robinspublished at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

Bristol City v Burton (15:00 GMT)

    Lee JohnsonImage source, Rex Features

It's fair to say it's been a fairly wretched three months for Bristol City.

Mid-table at the start of December, a run of just one win in 15 league games since then means the Robins are only above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Lee Johnson's side could drop into the bottom three for the first time this season if they fail to win, increasing the pressure on the 35-year-old.

Burton Albion are the visitors to Ashton Gate today and are looking to avoid being dragged into the mire at the bottom.

NIgel Clough's Brewers are 19th, two places and three points above their opponents.

There could be plenty of nail-biting in Bristol this afternoon.

  6. Team newspublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

Reading v Wolves: Reading hand a full debut to Romania international forward Adi Popa, who joined from Steaua Bucharest in January, but there's no place for Garath McCleary. Wolves make six changes to the side beaten by Birmingham, with Mike Williamson, Kortney Hause, Dominic Iorfa, Romain Saiss, Ben Marshall and Nouha Dicko all starting.

Rotherham v Aston Villa: Rotherham make two changes, with Anthony Forde and Jerry Yates coming in; There are two changes for Villa too, with the injured Gary Gardner and Andre Green replaced by Conor Hourihane and Birkir Bjarnason

Sheff Wed v Norwich: Sheffield Wednesday recall striker Sam Winnall and midfielder Barry Bannan for the visit of Norwich City, who are unchanged from the side that drew with Ipswich last weekend in the East Anglian derby.

  7. Will the Blackburn revival continue?published at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Blackburn v Wigan (15:00 GMT)

    Craig ConwayImage source, Rex Features

Blackburn have picked up four points from two matches since new boss Tony Mowbray took charge on 22 February, with a draw at Burton followed by a victory over Derby.

That pick-up in fortunes means Rovers, who start the day 22nd in the table, could move out of the Championship relegation zone today.

And it's a real six-pointer this afternoon, with fellow strugglers Wigan the visitors to Ewood Park.

The Latics are one place and two points behind Blackburn, and are winless in three.

The visitors could also be without manager Warren Joyce, who had minor surgery during the week.

  8. Team newspublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

Fulham v Preston:  Ryan Sessegnon starts at left-back as forward Neeskens Kebano and striker Chris Martin return; Tom Barkhuizen makes his full debut, replacing Callum Robinson, in Preston's only change from 3-1 win over QPR.

Ipswich v Brentford:  Tom Lawrence returns from suspension in place of Freddie Sears for Ipswich; Brentford make two chances as forwards Lasse Vibe and Sergi Canos start.

Nottm Forest v Brighton: Chris Cohen starts for Forest in five changes from draw at Wigan; Fit-again Liam Rosenior makes his first appearance for Brighton since August in place of injured left-back Sebastien Pocognoli.

QPR v Cardiff:  Forward Jamie Makie and striker Conor Washington return in five changes for QPR; Cardiff boss Neil Warnock names the same XI from last week's 2-2 draw against Fulham.

  9. Team newspublished at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

Blackburn v Wigan: Blackburn name the same side that beat Derby in midweek in boss Tony Mowbray's first home game in charge. Wigan recall Callum Connolly and Michael Jacobs to their starting XI.

Bristol City v Burton: Bristol City welcome back Lee Tomlin and Hordur Magnusson for the visit of Burton. In-form winger Michael Kightly, who has scored three goals in his four appearances since joining on loan from Burnley, misses out for the Brewers because of a hamstring injury.

Derby v Barnsley:  Derby make two changes to the side beaten at Blackburn in midweek, with Matej Vydra and Marcus Olsson coming in, but there's no Darren Bent in the Rams' squad. There are also two changes for Barnsley, who bring in Tom Bradshaw and Adam Hammill for Alex Mowatt and Ryan Kent.

We'll have a run-down of all Saturday's fixtures in a moment, but there was one Championship game last night.

A brace from Chris Wood, and a clinical late third from Alfonso Pedraza, meant a third home defeat in four for Blues.
