  1. 'FA Cup success has really inspired me'published at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

As the daughter of fictional German businessman Toni Erdmann belts out in the recent film of the same name: 'I believe  the  children  are our  future..'

So what of the next generation?

Players from Lincoln's youth academy have been telling Newsround what their club's extraordinary success means to them. As far as I know, no further Whitney Houston lyrics come in to play.

Lincoln can be satisfied they are only one goal down here.

They should also take confidence that in large parts of that first half they can compete against Arsenal and create the odd chance too.

    Arsenal 1-0 Lincoln

There's still time - six minutes deep we're going here.

Arsenal look emboldened, but Alex Woodyard wins a corner for a Lincoln side who would not be flattered by an equaliser before the break.

It comes to nothing though, as Arsenal clear and hold on to their lead at the ref's whistle.

The first non-league side to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals since 1914 are down, but not out.

That was always the danger, wasn't it? I think they caught them unawares. It also took a massive deflection and gave Farman absolutely no chance.

  5. goal

Walcott breaks the deadlockpublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2017

It's so cruel on Lincoln, who were moments away from making it through level at the break. As the ball comes back in from the corner, Olivier Giroud holds it up, backs into his man, and it's laid off for Theo Walcott who spins a shot low into the far corner via a huge deflection. Paul Farman had no chance.

Fantastic cross from Mesut Ozil, which nearly creeps in despite Olivier Giroud failing to attack it - Paul Farman pokes out wide for a corner...

    SIX minutes added on.

Craig Smith:  Sitting here at the Emirates and I can testify this croud is toxic. So many fans complaining. Doesn't help players confidence.

Pass out wide, pass back, pass out wide, pass back.

Lincoln are a green wall looking to make it until the break.

The home side pick up the pace, Hector Bellerin's ball in falls to Aaron Ramsey in the box, but the Wales man prods over the bar. Was that supposed to be a cross to the back stick that went wrong?

The longer it stays 0-0, the more frustration you can hear from the Arsenal fans.

They are shouting at them to play up, complaining about the time wasting - I don't think there's been any time wasting at all.

You can feel the atmosphere here becoming more and more tense...

Under five minutes to go until the break, and it's 1-1 in terms of big chances. This is by no means easy going for the Premier League side, 12-time FA Cup winners.

Hector Bellerin drills in a cross on the overlap, there's a vague shout of handball, not much in it, and then a clash of heads with Olivier Giroud coming off the worse. He's OK to carry on though.

What a run, what a save. Lincoln could so easily have been ahead.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 38 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Lincoln

Sam Habergham picks out a stray Aaron Ramsey pass, Lincoln play it up the park and as Jack Muldoon looks to race onto a deflected through ball Laurent Koscielny goes in the book for getting in his way. There was the slightest of movements towards blocking him off.

That's another booking for the home side. Frustration in the Gunners ranks. That too, will only build in Lincoln's favour as the game still stands at 0-0.

  14. CHANCE!published at 35 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Lincoln

Paul Farman clutches the ball into his chest and falls heavily. Theo Walcott's low shot after a quick turn and touch just inside the area, really could have gone anywhere.

As it is, another minute ticks down towards the break in safety. Lincoln are level with a team 87 league places above them. And surely their confidence can only grow with that.

If I were the Lincoln manager, I would be delighted right now.

Arsenal are going to put them under pressure and Lincoln are going to have to ride their luck. They are going to have to defend for their lives but also going to have to take an opportunity if it presents itself.

Theo Walcott breezes down the right wing into space, quickly tracked by two Lincoln shirts. They're holding firm here. But will they come to rue that missed chance?

Arsenal came close earlier on - check out Paul Farman's save from Theo Walcott below.

But Cech's save after Arnold's mazy run was bigger.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 29 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Lincoln

Lincoln come so close to taking the lead - it's only Petr Cech's desperate hand that claws away Nathan Arnold's shot from inside the box, at the end of a fantastic run that made mincemeat of the Gunners defence.

Arnold's turn on Laurent Koscielny was sweet as anything you'll see - but Cech came good for his side with a really strong hand.

A huge moment for the non-league side.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 27 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Lincoln

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is indeed coming off. I'm not sure exactly what the matter with him is - I certainly didn't see him go down. But surely it can't be tactical at this stage?

Apparently there's also been a bit of a bug going round the Arsenal squad?

    Either way, Ozil is on.

For a moment it looked like Matt Rhead might have been badly hurt, but he's back up now. Xhaka caught him late on the ankle with his studs, a deserved booking for sure.

There is a problem in the Arsenal ranks though - Mesut Ozil is about to come on. Is it Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who isn't moving well?
