    Granit Xhaka is lucky there.

Arsene Wenger has apparently told him not to make any tackles but he's obviously not listening. He was a couple of seconds late there and deservedly gets a yellow card.

Here comes the swarm. Theo Walcott, then Granit Xhaka with the high press looking to work off any Lincoln heavy touch or mistake. But as Alexis Sanchez darts down the left looking to make the most of the turnover, the long ball looking to find him is over-hit.

Xhaka then lunges in late on Matt Rhead. Yet another yellow card for the Switzerland international...

Matt Rhead with some textbook old-school number nine forward play, blurring the mind of Shkodran Mustafi as he tricks the £35m Germany international defender into handing out a cheap free-kick.

These are great opportunities for Lincoln to make their mark early on - but the delivery from deep doesn't breach the box, or make it beyond Laurent Koscielny's head.

It's the slick one-touch passing, the driving glides into space. Lincoln's bold early start has been put into retreat, as Sean Raggett lunges at a Theo Walcott cross.

Another Arsenal corner, which falls to Alexis Sanchez at the back stick, but Alex Woodyard times his challenge brilliantly to skirt away with the ball.

A chance for a breather, because Arsene Wenger's side are starting to play.

Great fingertips on that save down to his left. Brilliant reactions.

Now the class is beginning to tell.

But Lincoln keeper Paul Farman is equal to it - pushing Theo Walcott's dipping volley onto the post and out wide for an Arsenal corner.

That was a bit close for Lincoln and they got away with it on this occasion.

They didn't pick up Aaron Ramsey on the edge of the box and he at least should have made the goalkeeper work. He could have easily taken a touch - he had time.

A player of his quality should at least hit the target.

I tell you what, there are a lot of empty seats here in the home sections at the Emirates.

It just goes to show how precarious the situation is here at Arsenal.

Nathan Arnold with a late challenge on Alexis Sanchez. That smarts, the Chilean's expression says. Arsenal on the ball now, as Lincoln retreat behind it.

A sweeping pass wide to Hector Bellerin, who picks out Aaron Ramsey with a sweet cut-back from the right-wing, but the Welshman's first-time effort is wide.

All of a sudden, danger and space, acres of it, for the home side.

Were the Gunners, with five defeats from their past seven games, always going to start sluggishly? They've hardly been able to get out of their own half.

Lincoln have started like everyone involved in the club will have hoped they would. Bright, bold, no fear of this, the biggest game of their lives.

No two ways around it, there are quite a few empty seats on show in the home sections this afternoon. The Lincoln end is packed tight to the rafters, naturally.

Their team have more than held their own so far - in the just over five minutes we've seen. They're playing decent stuff.

Free-kick for the away side down the right wing - what a great early chance to crank up some pressure - but as the ball is lofted in the ref calls play back for a push in the box.

Arsenal's ball. Then for a moment as the game swings back towards the Gunners area Laurent Koscielny looks a gangly bag of nerves with Jack Muldoon bearing down on him, but the Frenchman recovers his composure to slide out of danger.

TWO minutes to go until kick-off ladies and gentleman.

The 9,000 Lincoln fans are gloriously decked in red and white stripes, balloons soaring about across their bobbing heads.

From the tunnel the players emerge. Handshakes, steely looks. Butterflies, surely.

There are apparently 9,000 Lincoln fans inside the Emirates Stadium this late afternoon.

A large bunch of them were in their seats at least an hour before kick-off, and the Imps players were out warming up in front of them.

There were waves, big claps, beaming grins all round. What a feeling to see your team come this far. Never mind what Lawro says.

The Lincoln story is fantastic and the other great thing for them is that, as well as reaching the last eight of the FA Cup, they have kept winning to stay top of the National League too.

That tells you how good they are, but their FA Cup adventure ends here.

    Prediction:  3-0

Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky are a breath of fresh air when it comes to football management. Approachable, open and honest. These are qualities you don't always see in managers - but they have it in abundance.

Their attention to detail is obsessive. Whether it's Arsenal or Altrincham, the pair watch as many games as is physically possible in the time allowed and then share their knowledge with the squad in a video analysis session the day before the game.

It's exactly the same when it comes to signing a player - they'll look at every detail not just of his skills on the pitch but his personality off it. They believe a team is a team. No one player is better than any other and whether it's a win or a loss, they all hold their hands up together and take the blame or the praise.

I spotted a banner as the crowd filled up way before kick-off earlier that read:

'Wenger: To achieve great things you have first to believe it. Six FA Cups.

'Cowley: Courage, bravery, determination and desire. Our P.E Teacher 2004.'

Outside the ground, there's been another co-ordinated fan protest from the Arsenal lot.
