More from Antonio Conte, on BBC Sport: "Our reaction was good, we played in the right way at a time of the season with a lot of pressure. When we conceded the goal we lost a bit of confidence but we managed the game and deserved to win.

"When you have this time of opponent [Tottenham] who is in good form and wants to catch you, it is important to have a good answer. This is a good answer. There are seven games to go and in England it is not easy, there is a lot of pressure."

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte speaking to BT Sport:  "It's normal to have a good pressure [after Spurs won]. We started the game very well with great attention and focus. Then we conceded the goal and we lost a bit of confidence. In the second half we managed the game and scored another goal, then the free-kick from Marcos Alonso.

"Marcos is playing a really good season. It's great for him to show his quality in the free-kick. I'm happy for him but I'm happy for the team."

On Costa's recent goal drought: "Diego Costa provoked the first goal. He played a good game and fought a lot and fought for the team. Now it is important to rest and restart and prepare for the game against Manchester United."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Sport:  "I thought it was a tight game today, we were well in it. It doesn't help going 2-0 down and it took a worldie free-kick to win the game. 

"I have to compliment Chelsea, they're an outstanding team and their system works very well for them. But I compliment my boys as well because they played very well. In the end Chelsea were too strong.

"I'm not feeling anything other than we need to win some more games. What we've historically done is always try to win and that's the same aim no matter how many points you have and how many games are left."

Bournemouth's Adam Smith speaking to BBC Sport: "I felt myself in a good position to block the shot and he shanked it really and it hit my head and went in. When we went 2-0 down it was a mountain to climb from there.

"We showed character, we didn't give up and we fought until the end but they just had a bit too much for us.

"We were a bit tired towards the end and they're a top team, that's why they're top of the table but we'll bounce back next week."

Chelsea

Chelsea's Eden Hazard speaking to BT Sport: "We passed a test. We knew the result of Tottenham before the game and today we deserved to win.

"It's more easy to control the game when you score first but at the end of the first half we were a little bit down. But in the second half we did well to control the game.

"We have to believe in everything. Now is one step closer to the title and we have seven games left."

Bournemouth can't be too sad. They came up against a top team today and one that will probably lift the title.

They had a right go but you get the feeling Chelsea had that extra gear if they needed. You have to reflect on who you've played against.

Chelsea retain their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. 

Bournemouth didn't really get close. 

With seven games to play before the trophy is lifted in May, who can stop Antonio Conte's side? Probably no-one.

Marcos Alonso is BT Sport's man of the match, I'd probably go with him too. It was a brilliant free-kick. 

Chelsea for some reason think it's a good idea to make another change now. Victor Moses is coming off for Kurt Zouma. That will change things.

Ollie: What is Jack Wilshere doing? Good in the first half, almost completely immobile in the second. Just standing there. Bizarre.

Eden Hazard comes off for a nice sit down and Cesc Fabregas is on to replace him. 

And Max Gradel replaces Ryan Fraser for Bournemouth.

Diego Costa's not had his best day at the office, here he is again gamely chasing a Marcos Alonso cross but not quite getting there. 

I saw a video of Costa in training the other day which was quite revealing; while everyone else was laughing and joking around, he was on his own staring into space, before rejoining the group to smash up the training set-up with the plastic top of a hurdle. 

Such a strong hand from Artur Boruc to smash Victor Moses' shot away to safety, the Chelsea man had mazed in with a silky run, but the Poland stopper was equal to him. 

Ten minutes to play. So, 4-3 yeah?
