When Mousa Dembele hits a ball it stays hit. He is found on the edge of the box for a first-time strike that is destined to fire into the bottom until Artur Boruc dives to parry.

Tottenham come again, though, and Christian Eriksen wins a free-kick on the left. Chance to swing the ball into the mixer...

The one concern Tottenham should have is Joshua King. He is really strong on the ball.

    Tottenham 0-0 Bournemouth

Well played Josh King. He carries the ball into the Spurs half to ease the pressure. Jack Wilshere gets his first touch in the attack - you probably heard the home fans reaction where you are - but he fails to keep it going and Spurs are back on the ball.

Bournemouth aren't seeing a lot of the ball. When they do get hold of it the Spurs players swarm all over them.

It's exactly what we expected from the game. Tottenham are applying pressure all over the pitch and they are punishing early mistakes from the opposition.

Bournemouth are going to be in for a bit of a tough afternoon here.

    Tottenham 0-0 Bournemouth

Spurs turn the screw early. Harry Kane's first involvement is a volleyed effort that looks to be on target but is deflected over by Steve Cook.

The resulting corner is taken short before Christian Eriksen whips a dangerous ball to the near post, which is also put behind.

The early assault continues with another short corner that is fed to Kane for an another volley, this time from close range, but he is offside.

    The visitors breathe again.

Tottenham's play is mesmerising at times. And I think Dele Alli can become one of the best in the world. He is mobile and so great in the air.

Josh King is quick and always looking to run behind defences. Bournemouth have recently taken points from Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton, and I think they're safe.

Duel of the Fates kicks in at White Hart Lane and out come the teams.

Can Spurs close the gap at the top or will Bournemouth spring a surprise and steer themselves away from the relegation rocks?

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (12:30 BST)

These are some of the facts that we included in our preview for this game...

    • Tottenham are vying to win seven consecutive top-flight matches for the first time since March to May 1967.
    • They could register 12 successive top-flight home wins within a single season for the first time. Their overall club record is 14 straight victories at White Hart Lane between January and October 1987.
    • Spurs have the best home form in the Premier League this season with 14 wins and two draws.
    • They have earned 32 points in 2017, five more than any other Premier League club.
    • Mauricio Pochettino's side have conceded 22 league goals this season, fewer than any other club in the division.

In short, Spurs are really good.

Tottenham are mentally a lot stronger now. They learned a lot from last season and look a much more confident side.

  14. Spurs gunning for Wilsherepublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 15 April 2017

If Jack Wilshere was wondering what reception he might get at White Hart Lane, he is now in no doubt. The reading out of his name for the teams was greeted with a healthy jeer from the home fans.

He may be wearing Bournemouth blue this afternoon but to these Spurs fans he is firmly tainted by the red of that other lot from north London.

Jack is actually enjoying his best season in years, by virtue of actually being fit and out on a football pitch consistently. Today would be a sweet time for him to score his first Cherries goal.

Here is a statement, external from Everton regarding their banning of the Sun newspaper from Goodison Park...

"Yesterday Everton Football Club informed The Sun newspaper it was banned from Goodison Park, the USM Finch Farm training ground and all areas of the Club's operation.

"Whilst we will not dignify any journalist with a response to appalling and indefensible allegations, the newspaper has to know that any attack on this City, either against a much respected community or individual, is not acceptable."

The big team news is the return of Harry Kane for Spurs. There are 24 very good reasons why Bournemouth should be worried about the presence of the England striker, and five specifically. The latter number is the amount of goals he has scored against the Cherries in just two games.

Oh, and there's also Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen. Eric Dier has a shot on him as well. Oh, and Kyle Walker is back.

    Good luck lads!

    Thanks Louise. Fine work.

Right, where are we? There are 30 minutes until the first Premier League game of the weekend. And it is an important one, at both ends of the table.

Whatever you do, don't tell Spurs that they've got no chance of catching Chelsea, or suggest to Bournemouth they are too good to go down.
