  1. Lukaku for Atletico Madrid?published at 11:13 British Summer Time 15 April 2017

    Everton v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on MOTD3

I watch Romelu Lukaku and I wonder which sides he could actually play for. Manchester City? I doubt it. I could probably see him more at Chelsea.

If you're looking around Europe then you are looking at Atletico Madrid or someone like that because they have been able to replace strikers over the last five or six years.

They've replaced Sergio Augero, they've replaced Radamel Falcao, they've replaced Diego Costa. It looks as though Antoine Griezmann will be leaving Atletico - if not this summer then over the next couple of summers.

You look at someone like that where Lukaku could go and be a total success.

Everton are hunting a new club record for successive Premier League home wins, against a Burnley side still seeking ANY away win.

The Clarets have three chances left, with the last (and furthest!) trip to Bournemouth probably their best bet - assuming both are safe from relegation by the season's penultimate weekend.

Predictions: Sting and his son Joe Sumner take on Lawro

    But back to today's football...

Lawro's opponents for this weekend's Premier League fixtures are Sting and his son Joe Sumner, who are both Newcastle fans.

"Football played a big part in my life growing up in Wallsend," Sting told BBC Sport. "The last trophy we won was the Fairs Cup in 1969 and I went to a lot of our home games during that run.

"Bobby Moncur was the captain and he was my hero - he still is.

"My favourite players are from that era - people like Jim Iley, all those old people. Footballers always seemed much older than me, but now they seem like my children. It's strange, it is just an age thing".

  8. Palace one win from safety?published at 10:39 British Summer Time 15 April 2017

Crystal Palace v Leicester (15:00 BST)

    Mark Scott
    Match of the Day commentator

A little over two months ago, Crystal Palace were second from bottom in the table, with Leicester lying just one place above the relegation zone.

But only Spurs can better the 15 points both teams have taken from the last 18 available and Sam Allardyce believes one more win would 'probably be enough' to secure Palace's safety.

On paper, the timing of the game should aid Allardyce's chances of getting that victory on Saturday, as Craig Shakespeare will surely be tempted to rest a number of Leicester's first-team regulars with Tuesday's return leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid in mind.

How is Dele Alli not on the shortlist for the main PFA Player of the Year award? Don't expect him to rampage trying to prove people wrong.

It might have happened last season but he and Spurs are far more mature and clinically dispassionate now.

That's why they won't crumble during the run-in again.

  13. And in League Two...published at 10:13 British Summer Time 15 April 2017

Plymouth Argyle were made to wait for promotion to League One after drawing 1-1 against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

But a win for Derek Adams' side against Newport on Monday will secure promotion.

And at the other end of the table Leyton Orient staved off relegation from the Football League for another few days at least.

But they were denied a much-needed victory as Luton stole a 2-2 draw.

Orient remain 10 points adrift of safety.

There was plenty to talk about in League One last night too, not least at the Ricoh arena.

Coventry City were relegated to the fourth tier of English football for the first time in 58 years after drawing with fellow strugglers Charlton.

And the game was twice delayed in the first 10 minutes when Charlton fans threw plastic pigs onto the pitch in protest against the club's ownership.

    Rotherham United 1-1 Birmingham City

Birmingham are now just four points above the Championship relegation zone following last night's 1-1 draw with relegated Rotherham.

And the action continued after the game as several Blues players were involved in an argument after the final whistle.

Full-back Emilio Nsue had to be held back from team-mate Ryan Shotton as the pair clashed at the end of the post-match warm-down.
