  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

Can 10-man Middlesbrough turn this around? Probably not. We're back under way.

  2. Postpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    HT: Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

A busy half ends with the men in red and black in the ascendancy, and the visitors very much in (yellow) peril.

Four of today's starting 22 have already left the stage - with Gaston Ramirez sent off, Antonio Barragan taken off in a tactical reshuffle, and both Marten de Roon and Dan Gosling limping off injured.

If it finishes like this, Bournemouth will end the day seven points clear of the relegation zone with four games left, while Boro will be seven points from safety with five games remaining.

Middlesbrough cannot concede a third. The manager needs to get his side in at half-time, rearrange, play with two banks of four and shore up the defence. Then hope to nick one from a dead-ball, and then perhaps the odds will turn in their favour.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

A shambles as far as Middlesbrough and their survival hopes are concerned.

  5. Ehiogu remembered on 44 minutespublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Very little for Boro's travelling fans to cheer - barring that De Roon shot which Artur Boruc saved - but as the clock ticks around to 44 minutes, the entire ground applauds in memory of ex-England and Boro defender Ugo Ehiogu, who died this week at the age of 44.

  6. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

A lovely round of applause breaks out around the Vitality Stadium in the 44th minute for Ugo Ehiogu, who died on Friday aged 44.

'Ugo, Ugo, Ugo' chant Middlesbrough's travelling fans.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 43 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

A third substitution and we have not reached half-time yet. Trouble for Bournemouth. Dan Gosling, who has only just returned from injury, is down with what appears to be a calf problem. He's not hanging around. He signals he can't continue and Lewis Cook is on.

  8. Boro's strikers 'have lost confidence'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Dean Saunders
Ex-Liverpool and Wales striker on Final Score

Middlesbrough, at the start of the season, would have been happy to finish the season fourth from bottom.

But their tactic from the first game was counter-attacking, and if you barely create chances in multiple matches your frontmen lose confidence. That then resulted in Aitor Karanka trying to change tactics, and they have never settled on a successful formula.

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

Bournemouth are coasting to three points as it stands. Before this game they required eight points from the last five games to surpass last season's tally of 42.

Hats off to Eddie Howe for another fine season.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 37 mins

It's all over for Marten de Roon. Having bravely attempted to carry on he signals to the bench that he is unable to continue and disappears down the tunnel. Here comes Fabio da Silva.

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Dean Saunders

So few goalscoring opportunities get created by Middlesbrough - you can't blame the strikers. It's like the old saying: you don't need to change the gun, just change the bullets.

I've never heard that turn of phrase before... have you?

  12. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

Another change for Boro....or is it? Fabio da Silva gets ready to come on as Marten de Roon receives treatment for a heavy knock. De Roon looks uncomfortable as he slowly makes his way off the pitch but, after running off the pain on the touchline, he's back on again.

  13. 'Self-inflicted'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

The flat back five is no more. The 10 men of Middlesbrough, fighting for their lives, have sacrificed right wing-back Antonio Barragan in favour of Adam Forshaw to reinforce a Boro midfield which has been overrun for much of the game. Alvaro Negredo is now looking rather isolated as the lone striker in a 4-4-1 formation.

Boro have shown occasional glimpses of quality, but it must frustrate Steve Agnew that so much of what has already gone wrong for them today, has been self-inflicted.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 29 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

Cracking shot by Marten de Roon from about 25 yards out after Alvaro Negredo's flick. It's heading for the top corner but Artur Boruc stretches and his finger-tips keeps it out.

That's the most positive thing Middlesbrough have done.

  15. 'It's tempting to put the sunglasses on'published at 15:27 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Dean Saunders
Ex-Liverpool and Wales striker on Final Score

Bournemouth look two yards quicker than Middlesbrough, who are now in desperate trouble. Boro are too easily dispossessed of the ball, and where the Cherries look sharp and are pressing Boro are off their game.

Credit to Bournemouth, because for some clubs who are safe at this stage of the season it's tempting to put the sunglasses on. Bournemouth haven't.

  16. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

As it stands, Middlesbrough are seven points from safety.

Concerns on the Bournemouth bench as Harry Arter, with no-one around him, hits the surface. It looks like an ankle problem.

Gaston Ramirez is sent offImage source, AFP

Gaston Ramirez is a victim of his own stupidity. The first booking was a dive in the box, clear to see, and then when you're on a yellow you simply cannot dive into challenges like that, especially when you are away from home. You've got to be cleverer than that.

Sometimes, managing footballers must be a nightmare...

  18. 'Home fans loving this'published at 15:24 British Summer Time 22 April 2017

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

It's all going one way at the moment. Not for the first time in this game, Boro have been caught dithering in possession and now it has cost them a second goal.

The home fans - having enjoyed watching a former Southampton player (Gaston Ramirez) be booked for diving, and then sent off for a second yellow inside 20 minutes - are absolutely loving this.

To be honest, with three-quarters of the game left, those travelling Boro fans might start thinking about leaving early to beat the traffic.

  19. RED CARD - Gaston Ramirezpublished at 21 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Middlesbrough

It goes from bad to worse for Boro. Gaston Ramirez, booked for diving earlier, needlessly hacks down Marc Pugh.

Boro, 2-0 down, will play three quarters of the match with 10 men.

Adam Forshaw comes on for Antonio Barragan.

  20. Postpublished at 18 mins

Joshua King fires into the side netting from close range. That should have been 3-0. What is going on with Boro?
