Two points clear of the relegation zone and with just five games to play, Hull City will be targeting victory in this match, along with Sunderland's visit to the KCOM Stadium in two weeks, as their most likely pathway to Premier League survival.
Marco Silva's remarkable success on home soil, external is well documented but continued failings on the road make its continuation imperative.
On paper, Watford provide the perfect opposition. Safely ensconced in mid-table, they have little to play for and their away form is awful, losing their last three in a row.
Complacency might be the biggest obstacle to Silva's side taking another giant stride towards safety.
Hull City v Watford (15:00 BST)
Hull make two changes from their defeat to Stoke, with Ahmed Elmohamady brought in at right-back and Harry Maguire shifting to the middle of defence. Club captain Michael Dawson makes way. In midfield, Evandro replaces Tom Huddlestone.
Hull XI: Jakupovic, Elmohamady, Ranocchia, Maguire, Robertson, Markovic, Clucas, N'Diaye, Grosicki, Evandro, Niasse. Subs: Huddlestone, Hernandez, Maloney, Mbokani, Dawson, Henriksen, Marshall.
One change for Watford as Miguel Britos returns from suspension to replace Adrian Mariappa in defence.
Watford XI: Gomes, Janmaat, Prodl, Britos, Holebas, Cleverley, Doucoure, Amrabat, Capoue, Niang, Deeney. Subs: Mariappa, Success, Behrami, Zuniga, Kabasele, Pantilimon, Okaka.
Hull City v Watford (15:00 BST)
I sat here a week ago and bashed out these pearls of wisdom:
"This could be a huge day in Hull City's fight for Premier League survival."
Well, since not a lot has changed I may as well refer you once again to the blindingly obvious point above.
Last week Hull ended the day nursing a deserved defeat at Stoke, their pain eased only by Swansea's loss to Watford, who, neatly, provide the opposition at the KCOM today.
That victory took Watford to 40 points and as good as secured their Premier League status.
We know Marco Silva has Hull in searing form at home - another win today could see them open up a five-point gap to the relegation zone.
What more motivation do you need?
