It was a silly challenge. He didn't need to dive in. He had players around him.

Victor Wanyama is a lucky man! On a booking, he dives in and catches Andros Townsend. Nothign malicious, just a foul, but the sort of foul you can pick up a booking for.

All strangely low-key at Arsenal considering tomorrow night's Manchester derby means at least one of United and City will drop points above them tomorrow.

Boro will be six points from safety if they hang on and win this.

Alexis Sanchez gets annoyed with Arsenal's ineffective midfield scheming so instead beats a man and then lashes a shot against the crossbar from 20 yards. That was shifting!

Christian Eriksen has a low shot blocked by the human wall that is Mamadou Sakho, surely one of Big Sam's shrewdest signings. Up there with Abdoulaye Faye, Bruno N'Gotty and Radhi Jaidi.

You cannot fault the commitment levels of this Middlesbrough side. They are closing down everything.

Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, GIVE IT AWAY.

It's a frustrating watch from Arsenal.

A nasty challenge from Victor Wanyama, first touch was poor, second touch was an ankle-high foul. He gets booked.

I wouldn't say Spurs' confidence was lacking necessarily, they just haven't quite clicked at the top end of the pitch.

It has to have knocked the confidence, no matter what anyone says. Chelsea were just more ruthless and I think Spurs came out with a huge dent to their confidence.

That's the Riyad Mahrez of old! He gets the ball on the left, lines up Gabriel and motors past him into the area, Laurent Koscielny comes across but the elusive Algerian still conjures up a low shot into the side netting.

    Superb play!

If Kyle Walker is going to end up at Barcelona he'll have to shoot better than that. A cross reaches him in space at the back stick and he can only shank it high and wide into the stands. Cue a long and introspective face rub from the former Northampton man.

I was thinking the same about Granit Xhaka. It was teed up for him to smash one just then but he instead played it out wide.

Thomas Hollern: As a neutral I'd like Spurs and Sunderland to win, to make things ''slightly'' more interesting but I feel its already all over

Luke: Why is Holding not starting? Best young English defender by far. In two games done far more than Stones all season. Why Wenger?

Eddie: Has Xhaka forgotten how to shoot from outside the box or was that coached out of him!?

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte doesn't seem too stressed about how Tottenham are getting on at Selhurst Park. He is watching the FA Youth Cup final, where the Blues are currently beating Manchester City 2-0.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:19 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Sunderland

Stinger from Didier Ndong, the Sunderland record signing forcing Brad Guzan into some strong-wristed action and then Billy Jones nods over. Sunderland look the stronger side when they go forwards. Just about.

  19. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Sunderland

You don't associate Lee Cattermole with eye-of-the-needle passes so it's no surprise that Sunderland's latest attack comes to nothing.

Neither side look remotely capable of scoring at the moment. In fact it's hard to believe that we've had a goal at all.

It wasn't a great shot by Benteke. He started the move, heading down to Townsend who could have had a shot himself. This is what Crystal Palace are set up to do, look for the long ball to Benteke and then pick up the scraps around.
