Adam Hammill, sent off in the reverse fixture this season, is having a good game today.

He gets by his man to deliver a good cross but Tom Bradshaw can't generate enough pace to direct his effort beyond Keiren Westwood.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson, just back from injury, is forced off and David Jones is on in his place.

Seems to be a knee injury for the ex-Chelsea man.

Sheffield Wednesday weather the storm and force a corner of their own but Sam Hutchinson's effort evades everyone and goes out for a Barnsley throw.

Good bit of pressure from the hosts.

Adam Hammill wins a header at the back post that forces Owls keeper Keiren Westwood into his first real bit of work of the day.

  8. Postpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Barnsley 0-0 Sheff Wed

Good news for Barnsley as Adam Davies seems to be fine to carry on.

Tykes winger Adam Hammill wins a free-kick after a foul by full-back Jack Hunt but the former Liverpool man blasts the set piece over the bar.

We may well be goalless at Oakwell, but there's been an early strike at Anfield, where Liverpool lead neighbours Everton through Sadio Mane's goal.

Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies is now down getting a bit of treatment.

Not ideal if the hosts are forced into two early changes.

The game just starting to open up a little bit here.

Adam Hammill fires a fine cross over but Sheffield Wednesday full-back Jack Hunt defends well to clear.

Meanwhile, Tykes full-back Andy Yiadom is struggling to shake off a knock and may have to go off.

The visitors on top so far but are yet to test ex-Owls man Adam Davies in the Barnsley goal.

Carlos Carvalhal's men have stuttered lately but a win today would be huge for their play-off push.

  13. Rovers to seal return?published at 12:48 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

Grimsby v Doncaster Rovers (13:00 BST)

Doncaster Rovers could become the first team to seal promotion in the EFL this season.

The League Two leaders need to win at Grimsby and then hope that Stevenage lose at home to Barnet and the match between Luton and Blackpool finishes all square.

Perhaps asking a little bit too much? Whatever the case it seems like just a matter of time before Darren Ferguson's men secure an immediate return to the third tier.

We'll keep you up to date with all the big moments from Blundell Park.

  14. Postpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Barnsley 0-0 Sheff Wed

First chance of the day for the hosts.

Tom Bradshaw shows good industry before firing just wide of the post from 25 yards. Good work from the ex-Walsall man.

  15. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Barnsley 0-0 Sheff Wed

Barnsley winger Adam Hammill sends a free-kick over all the waiting heads.

He'll be hoping for a better day today than when he last faced the Owls.

Brought on a second-half sub in the 69th minute, he was sent off in the 82 for a rash tackle on Sam Hutchinson.

Wednesday went on to win the game 2-0.

Unsurprisingly it's been a competitive start to the game but no chances of note yet.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Sam Winnall left the Tykes for the Owls in January and his every touch is being widely booed by the home fans. A little toy pig has even been thrown in his direction, by the looks of things.

The ex-Wolves man scored 41 goals in 97 league appearances for Barnsley.

It was a winning start to life at Pride Park for new Derby boss Gary Rowett on Friday.

His new charges beat inform QPR 1-0 to boost their slim hopes of reaching the top six.

Forward Matej Vydra, who also scored in Rowett's first game in charge at Nottingham Forest, hit the winner with 20 minutes to go.

The Rams are now six points behind Sheffield Wednesday with seven games to play.

Barnsley make three changes to the team that lost at Norwich last time out. The Tykes recall Saidy Janko, Alex Mowatt and Ryan Kent.

Sheffield Wednesday make two changes from the XI that started the defeat by Reading. Callum McManaman and Sam Hutchinson come in to the team.

  20. Good afternoonpublished at 12:15

Barnsley v Sheff Wed (12:30 BST)

    Sheffield WednesdayImage source, Rex Features

It's been two weeks since our Championship teams were last in action.

For the two teams in our early kick-off the break might have been just what they need.

Hosts Barnsley are winless in their last six games and haven't recorded victory at Oakwell since 21 January.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday's play-off bid has faltered in recent games, with back-to-back defeats before the break.

Add local bragging rights into the mix and we should be set for a great game in South Yorkshire.

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturday's EFL live text.
