The only other goals in that league have both gone to MK Dons, who lead 2-0 at home to struggling Gillingham.

It is an even game so far at St James' Park with the visitors doing their best to make things difficult for the leaders.

Newcastle have a shot through Matt Ritchie but it's blocked by Wigan's Jake Buxton.

  3. League Two updatepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

Accrington Stanley have taken an early lead at second-placed Plymouth with a goal from Jordan Clark.

Perhaps you may feel that said season, for your team, is this one. (Not to mention any names though, Rotherham fans...).

  10. goal

FIRST GOAL OF THE 15:00 GAMESpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Millwall 1-0 Scunthorpe

League One delivers the first goal in the 15:00 BST EFL games, as Shaun Williams gives Millwall the lead from the penalty spot against Scunthorpe on three minutes.

  11. Latics 'won't go down without a fight'published at 15:02 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Newcastle 0-0 Wigan

    Paul Rowley

On the face of it, the Latics have no chance. Next to bottom in the table, seven points from safety, with just one win in their last seven matches, away to a footballing giant seemingly heading back to their rightful home in the Premier League.

Then again, this is Wigan Athletic. Four years ago they lifted the FA Cup (something Newcastle last achieved in 1955) at the end of eight years in the top flight where they regularly defied gravity, and invariably would beat the Magpies at the DW.

The installation of Graham Barrow, a 'Tics legend, as interim manager has at least given fans hope after a miserable season that has seen the departures of Gary Caldwell and Warren Joyce.

If they do go down, it won't be without a fight.

Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby:

"We are fighting relegation and they are looking to cement their place in the top six and are still chasing the top two.

"There are different sorts of pressures on us going into the game, I think theirs is slightly easier because they are almost guaranteed a play-off spot now.

"We have four of the top six teams to come in the last eight games, so we need to try get something out of them. Anything we get will be a bonus."

  15. League Two fixturespublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    League Two fixtures

With Doncaster having taken a large step towards promotion with that victory over Grimsby, they could be promoted if Stevenage lose at Barnet and the game between Luton and Blackpool ends in a draw.

Elsewhere, second-placed Plymouth host the division's form side in Accrington Stanley and third-placed Portsmouth make the long trip to Hartlepool.

At the wrong end of the table beleaguered Leyton Orient are on their fifth manager of the season, with Omer Riza taking charge for the game against Wycombe after Danny Webb quit on Thursday. Newport, who host Crawley, are a point and a place better off than the O's at the foot of the table.

  16. Could Doncaster seal the deal today?published at 14:57 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

Well Doncaster Rovers have done their bit, that's for sure.

Late goals from Andy Williams and Alfie May have handed Donny a resounding win over Grimsby to leave them on the brink of promotion.

  17. League One fixturespublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    League One fixtures

With runaway leaders Sheffield United not in action today it is a good opportunity for second-placed Bolton to continue their excellent form and close the gap on the Blades.

The Trotters host lowly Chesterfield while third-placed Fleetwood also welcome a struggling side, with Swindon the visitors.

Fourth visit seventh as Scunthorpe make the trip to Millwall and fifth-placed Bradford will look to bounce back from their defeat by the Iron last week when they host mid-table Walsall.

Sixth-placed Southend, who have won their last three matches, welcome improving Oldham.

  18. Hughton on Seagulls run-inpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Brighton v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

Brighton manager Chris Hughton told BBC Radio Sussex:

"We can't afford to think that the teams below us will drop points and lose games.

"We've got to expect that those who are pushing hard will do well.

"What the numbers will be? I don't know. But certainly from the eight games, we'll have to win a high percentage of them."
