Leeds are the team who've had the clearest sights of goal though, make no mistake about that. 

Alfonso Pedraza is the latest to fire a shot in on goal, striking left footed from the edge of the area but cutting across it just a touch and sending it wide of the near post.

Having let the visitors have a decent chunk of the ball in the opening exchanges, Reading are now absolutely bossing possession - they've had 70% of it in the opening 14 minutes, in fact.

The Royals are well known for their possession-based style of play and, along with Fulham I'd guess, probably spend more time with the ball than any other team in the league.

The angle was against him, but if it was on target it may well have been an opening goal.

At the other end, John Swift wriggles clear on the left-hand side of the penalty area but skews his shot high and wide.

The game is just starting to open up a little.

It's the away side, in a very bright yellow-white-yellow combo tonight, who've enjoyed the better of the opening two and a half minutes, knocking the ball around albeit going nowhere in a hurry.

Both of these teams recorded eye-catching victories prior to the international break, Leeds against Brighton and Reading against Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking of important forward players, Reading striker Yann Kermorgant is a man who knows a thing or two about being involved in Championship promotion run-ins.

The Frenchman helped Bournemouth to the title in 2015 and had a moment he'd rather forget in a penalty shoot-out for Leicester City.

Now the 35-year-old, who has scored 10 goals so far this season, is hoping for a memorable ending to Reading's campaign come May...

Chris Wood's having a decent season, isn't he?

Of Leeds United's 52 league goals Wood has scored 24 and, having never gone more than three games without scoring, that haul has been delivered with a staggering consistency too.

Arguably most impressively of all, though, is that the New Zealand striker has now scored against 18 different Championship sides this season - with fixtures still to come against four of the five he has yet to find the target against already.

... A dress rehearsal for the Championship play-offs?

With a whole bunch of football still to be played it's a bit too early to be saying that with any degree of certainty, of course.

But, if the season was to finish right here, right now, these two would be going head-to-head in an end-of-season showdown. And so, in addition to the valuable points on offer, a psychological blow may well be struck at the Madejski Stadium tonight.

The question is - who'll strike it? Fifth-placed Reading host fourth-placed Leeds United from 17:30 BST.

That Burton win is bad news for several other sides down at the bottom end of the table.

Burton move above both Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, who lost at Brentford.

Two points above the Brewers, Ipswich and Birmingham remain level on points with one another, six points above the relegation zone, after a 1-1 draw at Portman Road.
